What former athlete from another professional sport became a successful professional golfer? Rick Rhoden gave professional golf a try and had little success. He's had a lot of success on the celebrity tour but not on the professional tour.

Now the Romo dislike will transfer from Cowboys career to his post-Cowboys career. He should ask Aikman how he deals with nonsensical criticism from fans about broadcasting games. Scratch that. Aikman should ask Romo. It's safe to say Aikman hasn't dealt with nearly as much verbal foolishness by comparison.

He had one win on the champions tour, I don't consider that being successful. He missed the cut in a lot a professional golf tournaments.

He made the tour - that in itself is success. He won a tournament, which many golfers never do. If you don't consider that successful, then your expectations are completely out of whack.

There's only so much you can say about a three time Super Bowl champion.

Factors I haven't seen discussed a lot:

1. His wife and kids, what they want
2. How one more hit could destroy his physical health
3. Golf was an either/or option when it comes to football. He chose golf this time. He won't have to take any hits, yet still gets to compete on a big stage. With a big contract at CBS that is part-time for easy broadcast work.
4. He won't have to move, kids can stay in same school, etc.

All you can do is try. If your good, you can have a good weekend and finish high on the board.

If he does retire, and I was him, I would play golf every time I'm not broadcasting. The money is there, especially for him, but I'm not sure he wants to put in the work. He could live somewhere and put a driving range or green in his backyard.....I had that. If you want to do it, you can, he has that money. Question is what he wants to do.

With his money, I would probably sleep half the week and be on tv, Sundays. Depends on his mind.

He's not going to be able to juggle professional golf and broadcasting. He'll be preparing to broadcast games. He'll have the offseason to work on golf but you're not going to have success as a professional golfer playing serious golf half the year.

One hit in a car accident to a stadium could destroy his physical health. Pointless reason.

Making the tour and winning one tournament is not being successful. To be successful you have to at least be consistent making cuts and Brodie missed a lot of cuts and that was part of the senior tour. Romo still has 13 years before he's eligible for the senior tour and no way is he going to have success with the big boys on the PGA Tour. I'm not going to waste anymore time arguing this.

He missed three cuts in 230 events on the Champions Tour - what on earth are you talking about? He won once, finished second twice and had 12 top 10 finishes. Do you even research before you talk out your rearend?
