Dallas needs better QB play

Yawn.

Dak is being a company man. Watch the petty injuries bug to hit this team for clues on if this team is trying.

Judging Dak on 7 games is like judging him based on team stats...it's gaslighting.

Firmly in the "ride with bus driver, over roll the dice" tent.

I wish Jerra had the cojones Jim Irsay has. COLTS have benched their starting QB and the backup QB (Joe Flaco) will start this Sunday. Richardson might not make the same $ as Dakota, but sure plays as awful as him.

Yes, never mind the previous eight years.

Not interested in getting into another Dak argument. He hasn’t had a good season, but this is a bad football team. We would be no better than 1-6 without Dak. Even when the defense was healthy, it was terrible. The OL and RBs are bad. We have one real good receiver and he’s had his issues this season. I can’t remember a team that Romo had that had as many holes as this one. He never played for a bad Cowboys team. I said during the offseason, it was the worst I could ever remember with the Cowboys. We did absolutely nothing to improve the team. We got much worse because of all the players we lost.
OMG, that's a stretch.

Romo played for three straight 8-8 teams. This team will be challenged to win 8 games, even if Dak doesn’t miss a game. What Romo team had as many holes as this team? Let’s compare.

There's no way in hell you can convince Jerry of that, maybe the new coach will insist that we draft a young QB to groom or something

I'm definitely all in for drafting a good young quarterback! Now are we going to improve the offensive line, the running back position and add more quality receivers who can get open and a better offensive coordinator?

Because if we give our new young quarterback or a free agent quarterback this same offense with the same players and prehistoric play design, what do yall believe will be different? Do you believe any young quarterback would get better production from THIS offense?

Impossible. Deshaun Prescott just needs more talent around him.

Real quick... give me the names of the quarterbacks who never had talent around them and won a Superbowl?

It's never been done but maybe you have some inside information on someone who has won a Superbowl without any talent around them.

I'm surprised to hear that you don't think that any of the teams that Romo played for had more holes than this one. For one, I don't see Dak getting absolutely killed because of the OL and there were plenty of years with a bad Defense or trouble with the running game in Dallas. I expect there to be more holes in the future.

How do you plug up holes when you overspending on one position causing salary cap woes. What we are doing now, is making things worse for the future.

Without a good QB a team can't compete or expect to win. Right now, Dallas doesn't have that. Dallas can't keep throwing multiple INTs per game.
WRONG!! Sick of fans with these narratives that don't fit maybe you ought to have the context that we need better team play in order to see our quarterback have a better opportunity to play better... Yes he's making mistakes but there are a lot of reasons for it we already had this conversation in 2022 but we wanna talk about Patrick mahomes the last 12 or 14 games stemming back to last year throwing more interceptions and touchdowns in his productions way down and yet how about Matthew Stafford leading the league in interceptions for his Super Bowl year with the Rams and he threw 2 interceptions in the Super bowl and got 2 balls about his defense his team they rally they played hard they made sure they didn't lose that includes the coaching Staffs this happens all the time you don't have any Hall of Fame type quarterbacks by the name of Brett farve Drew Brees and Peyton Manning through a ton of interception and by the way Prescott's interception the touchdown ratio is far better than troy's both in the playoffs and the regular season and don't say that's an era thing because that will get you a virtual throat punch no he was on a team full of Hall of Fame talent and they ran the ball more than they passed and he still found a way to throw interceptions yes and even in big games you forget about them just like we're giving the past and these other guys because their teams end up winning games....

Stop with the nonsense most of the problems on offense stem from the players around Prescott and the coaches the scheming the execution it's been a big problem he can't overcome all that by himself this can be fixed by having a better run game better route trees better adjustments in games trying to attack the defense and not having guys drop passes or be in the wrong place or run the wrong route because that is what's happening...

And yes on the outside that second interception then he tried to force the lamb that happens when you're frustrated in a game where it's all but lost and you just trying to throw the ball up and how many times is lamb just stand there and watch a ball get intercepted instead of go attack the ball at least knock it down at least hit the guy I mean then we can talk about the defense I mean you're picking on one guy the quarterback who has nothing around him when there's 80% of the other parts of the team are first in line for the blame so you can take that stuff somewhere else because I'm tired of hearing about it you all don't understand the game if you're blaming Prescott for throwing a few interceptions the first one he couldn't even step into he wanted to throw it deep but he couldn't follow through 'cause once again one of the two tackles take turns on who they set free sometimes at the same time but sometimes it's every other play you got a guy standing back there that has no run support it's A1 dimensional offense and even the one dimension looks like high school the schemes the route trees the execution is terrible!!!!

I think the players need to publicly say what they think, the play calls, the scheming sucks, what are they going to do what is this coaching staff going to do if the players mutiny, they been neutered w/ 1 year deals , no real power, high paid contracts, , they can't do anything!!

I would like to see them all changing the plays and really going off the deep end, I'd like to see the coaches lose the team but not in a way where they play bad, that the team just starts ignoring the coaches game plans and in the middle of the game just start playing Sandlot football and get this figured out both sides of the ball!!

I think Prescott, I mean what are you going to do Jerry says we don't want him to run what exactly are you going to do if Prescott decides he wants to run a lot in one game, you going to send him down, you benching him, are you cutting him??!! NOPE!!

What power does Jerry Jones and this coaching staff actually have if this team decided go full mutiny on this staff??

I mean isn't that the problem here we say that Mike McCarthy both as a head coach and more so as the offensive coordinators failing big time when you're not running the football all day long like it means something and you become one dimension on your hanging your quarterback out to dry and then you don't try to get help with your tackles or you're not locating I thought the main job is to locate the middle linebacker especially if his name is Fred Warner..

I don't get this fan base at all,

I mean which is it?!

I mean which is it you literally break these games down and you pick on the wrong players…. IMHO.

I thought that the narrative around here was that Jerry Jones and his budget basement diving for free agents, he doesn't make enough trades, he's not aggressive enough, he doesn't do enough to change the narrative on a regular basis in the offseason, then we come into that season and you act surprised when we have some attrition and a lot of injuries that there's no way to recover from it, but let's pick on the players that are just trying a little too hard because they have no choice.

How is it that you're running your fullback on 3rd and five instead of using your quarterback and the fullback in blocking some full blocking package maybe call a option play do something but that was one of the worst calls I've ever seen by a professional coach like you were going to trick somebody and then you don't even block the middle linebacker isn't that what most of the call outs are calling 54 or 55 whatever you're supposed to locate the middle linebacker especially if he's the best player on the field??

I mean you have Mike McCarthy designing high school type route trees and maybe I'm delusional saying this because it's supposed to be the West Coast offense but I've seen better stuff running by the better Texas high school teams that are competing for championships on a yearly basis… They're more creative than that, I mean when you break down the film even Troy Aikman said there's no separation, the routes are just confusing, they're too close together, they they're all in the same depth, I mean you have defenders being able to lurk around from their man and fade under and help somebody else that they weren't even supposed to help, and come underneath and get interceptions because the routes are so close together...

I mean you're going to blame Prescott for yes he was getting hit on the 1st interception he didn't get enough on it but this is because both tackles are having problems and the pressure is there almost all game, and I'm not saying it's the worst blocking I've ever seen, but on a consistent basis it's not good, and when your receivers are not getting open fast enough, or they're never open sometimes, your quarterback is just trying to give your better players an opportunity to make a play and instead you have Turpin dropping a past, Lamb never challenging the DB to avoid the INT, and when you're throwing in the tight coverage…

I know we can't blame that tight end early in the game he got his hands on it but he was double covered but the ball was thrown accurately it just wasn't caught and I'm not blaming him but I'm saying this is what the coverages look like,

anybody out here that somehow is delusional blaming Prescott and naming his $60 million contract not really looking at the fact that they have a terrible offensive play caller, terrible scheme, terrible execution by the skill players, and completely abandoning the run game is the worst run game in the NFL, and then you add in bad defense!!!

YET, somehow, we're trying to pick out certain players on the team?? when right now the main problem we have here is the coaching staff and the general manager who's unwilling to help the team.

I get it, at first, I was like yes, we do have a lot of players coming back and it is like you're bringing in new players, but it's a little late for that, you need to add on top of that a couple other players like other teams are doing, whether it works or not make an effort!!

but that's the deal somehow we're blaming the players for what everyone has said for three months that there wasn't enough done in the offseason, not enough done since the beginning of the season when these injuries started happening, and instead of going out and trying to fill those needs and right now before the trade deadline he's saying that we're OK and we're going to make a historical turn around and that might even be true we don't know there's still 10 games left..

But I can't for the life of me understand why we're picking on individual players when most of this is about the scheme or the lack of scheme the lack of adjustments and the coaches just don't have a clue on how to fix what's been broken here and some of it I don't have enough players but on offense Mike McCarthy is the most horrible play caller we've ever had!!

I didn't say it last year because I thought the first year of his offense they would have the first half of the playbook and then they would build on it and we have come into this team relatively healthy on offense we're missing Brandon cooks that's it I mean they had an opportunity to move Tyler Smith back out the left tackle and use a different left guard and then maybe put guy in that right tackle and make some moves to improve the offensive line and didn't do it they have the players on offense that they basically started with so they have no excuse on why they're so bad but when we watch the film nobody's getting open on a regular basis and when they're open the separation rates are some of the worst in football and then you have to add in what I said the scheme's horrible there's too many people close to each other I watch other teams they have guys almost at least one on every play that's almost wide open and it's up to the quarterback to get that guy the ball if he's not being pressured and running for his life..

Yes, I know that this is going to fall on deaf ears most people are not going to read it because this is my first time posting since Sunday, because I can't deal with most of the people in here and I knew I was going to go on a full rant, and I'm going to put this on every page so everyone is forced to see my rant!!

I'm forced to see them picking on players when really this starts from the top; Jerry Jones and the coaching staff first and foremost those things could have been fixed at the bye week and instead yeah Mike McCarthy lying to us the run game was working in the first half and I don't care what the score was you abandon it 56 yards by a professional team and not doing anything in the second-half it's on the coaching staff not the players it's on the coaching staff...

This has been by far the worst run game I've ever seen and it's not because the players name it's not because of Derrick Henry this is non commitment to the run game if you run the ball 25 to 30 * a game in which you need to get any kind of resemblance of a run game can wear a defense out it helps your quarterback by not having the defense be able to tee off because they know it's one dimensional.....just UGHH!!!

You all are clueless if you're blaming Prescott for the way this season has started and probably the way it will end it might be his first losing season but this goes back to 2022 when we blame him for interceptions and that was a better team but there was a lot of problems these problems have resurfaced they fired Kelly Moore and by the way I think Kelly Moore I take him back now over this nonsense that Mike McCarthy's throwing out there.....

You can keep doing the hate the man's gonna be here for three more years after this year and he's that's one of the worst situations in football ask Troy Aikman ask a lot of guys on ESPN and by the way which is it cause a lot of you alleged experts said that we had a historically bad offseason and once again Jerry Jones didn't do enough to add talent to this team and he should have fired Mike McCarthy in the whole three months we had to listen to the nonsense in here about how bad the front office did this year and then we have a bunch of injuries and nothing's going right and here we are back to blaming the quarterback because he got a $60 million contract no he is not even in my top five of problems we have this year..

  • coaching all phases, all levels.... the worst ive ever seen
  • FO not adding anything g one the injury bug hit..ef the offseason they sat while other teams made moves and saw obvious needs.
  • execution by all players, all levels; penalty's, bad routes, drop passes, busted converges, poor blocking, and so on and so forth.
  • Injuries
  • Refs missed calls bad calls see the saint's game as prime example
  • Other teams are better coaches playing chess to our checkers, heck not checkers worse , see the first issues above so it comes back twice.
  • no run game at all cant stop run yes redundant see 3rd line worth repeating.
  • Sure, our stars ie Dak ,Cd, martin, Diggs, D.WILSON, and others should be Better should make more of an effort. ,but truly this is related to coaches and schemes play Calling etc right 3rd mention GET IT YET!!!!
This has to be the worst offensive coordinator we've ever had and that's saying a lot I would take some of the ones back in the late 90s I think Chan gailey could call a better game right now I think whoever Dave campo had as an offensive coordinator was better than this I would really love to go back and keep MOORE.

It's hard top blame Zim 'cause you have to add in all the injuries and not having but one offseason to try to flip this defense but yes he's part of the problem as well he knows what the issues are and he's not getting enough pressure even missing talent but I'm giving him more of a pass right now Mike McCarthy is the head coach and the offensive coordinator is the least effective coaching I've ever seen not his first four years I think he did a great job in 2020 given the circumstances right now he should have been fired last week or the week before if not in the offseason I was OK keeping him but now I'm on board with everyone else they should have blew this up and got a whole new coaching staff , stop blaming the quarterback he probably win a Super Bowl with a team the way Matthew Stafford did or others did so every time I see something like this you're gonna get ,

All my rants because i'm going to do this all week long post wins or losses. Seriously you may not read it but it's coming if I have to see your nonsense in here daily you're getting mine back..

It's a team game so obviously you need talent around the QB to succeed, but Dakota has had MORE than enough talent throughout his career to succeed, and he hasn't done his part. It's about HIS play when you need to get a first down, a game winning drive, 3-5 yards scrambling to make it more of a manageable third down. The dude's best year, to me, was his rookie year, and that's not a good thing.

This was so predictable. You have a QB that shrinks in big games and you take away any chance of a running game. One offensive star. Awful offense.

What Cowboys team did Romo play for have more holes or as many as this team? Romo never had this bad an RB situation. We have two aging washed up backs. An average back and a midget that rarely sees the field. We have the worst running game in the league. Romo had some bad OL’s but not any worse than the one we have now. Romo had a much better TE situation with Witten. Our overall WRs were better under Romo. Although our defense was a problem with Romo, we never had as bad a defense as this current defense. Our DL maybe the worst in the entire league. In most of the games we’ve lost we’ve gotten our doors blown off. We’re 0-3 at home and have been underdogs in 5 of our 7 games. Anyone who tries to argue that Romo had as bad a team as this current is going to lose that argument.

This OL not better than the 2011 Offensive Line? I mean I don't see Dak constantly running for his life. Its a bit hard to compare bad teams since it would require looking back at previous years. But Romo didn't have great defenses in many seasons.

Doesn't matter. Dak got further than Romo ever did in the playoffs. Facts matter. Can't re-write history on me.....Aikman wasn't all that great either. He had one great SB. The rest was all on Emmitt and the defense. He was pretty much MIA the last 2 SB's. Without help. No q.b. can win on his own. Great as Mahomes can be. Without a good line he was average to below in the SB he lost. It's a team sport...You play as a team to win. Or to lose. Dak needs to play way better!!! But so does the whole team. Minus the FG kicker
Dak got further in playoffs? What the heck are you talking about? If facts matter so much, you should probably look things up before stating nonsense.

Aikman has 3 rings and a HOF jacket. He doesn't need defending. Your opinion is moronic.

The 2011 OL was bad but we had just added Tyron Smith. We were in the process of rebuilding the OL. Our first round pick this year on the OL, Guyton has been a disappointment so far. Zack looks washed up and Steele looks bad and has never returned to form after the ACL. Beebe has looked okay but this OL is not good. Dak has been under a lot of pressure. I mentioned Romo didn’t have great defenses but he never had a defense as bad as this one. This defense has been manhandled so badly in some games, jokes are being made. None of Romo’s defenses were even close to being this bad against the run. Our DL is the worst I can remember. If it’s not the worst in the league it’s close. This defense is GARBAGE!
