It was a bad call, but SA shouldnt have let Dallas get back in after being up 5with 3 minutes left. They also had a chance to win with a 10 foot jumper, and couldnt do it.

And let's not forget, Dallas still had to win it in overtime.

Dude, do you know anything about ANY sports? Since when is being down by 5 not being in the game? SA didn't "let them back in", they were already in the game. 5 points is nothing.

I give the Mavs props. I've never seen a team dismantle the modern-day Spurs defense like they have. The Spurs have only themselves to blame for that last loss. Had the game winning shot, blew the stupid inbounds pass from Barry, all sorts of mistakes. I guess like AJ says, the Mavs are the mentally tougher team right now.

For you Mavs fans who were crying about the refs after the first Spurs win, I don't see you taking up for the Spurs when the refs made that horrible call with 3 minutes left that should have been a charge on Nowitzki. Instead of the Spurs getting the ball back up by 5, they are only up by 2. That's the way it always happens in hoops, the refs are always blowing calls, and why I have a hard time listening to anyone complain about the refs giving the game away, because it happens to everyone. You benefit from as many bad calls as hurt ya.

I will say this about the Spurs, of all the Spurs rosters I've seen dismantled in the Playoffs, this team is the one I would have the most faith in coming back from a 3-1 margin. If this were the Lakers a few years ago, or the Admiral's earlier days, fohgetaboutit. This team is a lot tougher than those teams and has been through a lot. Heck, the most clutch player in the final minutes last night was the new guy, Michael Finley. I know fellas like Duncan and Ginobilli and Horry can do it too.

I'm still not sure I think it's wise for Pop to go small and take away another twin tower when it seemed to work so well in last year's Playoffs and in this year's regular season, but oh well, I guess he's the one who gets paid to make the decisions.

I hope the Mavericks dont let up and put the nail in the coffin tonight. They are going to need as much rest as possible for the WCFs.

And yes, complaining about the refs is very troublesome and tiresome. Now if there was some evidence that they had some kind of agenda, that would be difference. But Last game both teams got exactly 32 Free Throw attempts.

After the first game, all most of my co-workers here in Dallas did was complain and B&M about the refs. And of course, after the other 3 games, they thought the refs were just fine  .

When the Spurs were a decent defensive team, it was something. I guess those days are gone.....

Just to be clear, I'm a Mavs fan.

These last two games were horrible. Make no mistake, the Spurs still had a chance to win it, but talk about two horrible calls at the end of the games...

I missed the first quarter of this game, but just by watching the beginning of the 2nd I've seen por reffing in San Antonio's favor. Every time Duncan makes a move to the basket he gets the foul call no matter what the defender does. If the Mavs lose I won't blame it on the refs, but I just wanted to point out that the whistle happiness we've seen in these playoffs has gone both ways.

GO SPURS GO!

Well the spurs just got their crap call with a NO call on Bowen (freakin hand on Dirk's wrist) and THEN the shove by Horry at the end.

You can say what you want, but the better team should already be done with this series...and thats the MAVS. San Antonio is lucky their still in this series. Hopefullly, Dallas can close that door on Friday.

Complete load of BS. That block by Bowen was CLEAN. PERIOD.

And it didn't look like Horry pushed Dirk till after the buzzer. I keep watching the replays of that but it didn't show a good angle.

no way. that was a clean block. not even close.

can't say i noticed horry, but it certainly wasn't anything that should be called with 1 second in a one point game.

there is no better team. 4 of 5 games have come to the final seconds. this one could go either way.

Apparently, any game where Nowitski doesn't go to the line 20+ times and get calls for every time someone looks at him funny is a "poorly officiated game."

Props, though, to Mick and the other Dallas fans who acknowledged the bad calls against the Spurs in games 3 & 4.

I happen to have grown up being a Spurs fan, back in the days of Coach Bob Bass, George Gervin, James Silas and Billy Paultz. I also remember when they were the Dallas Chaparrals...

I am also a Mavs fan from day 1 of their existence. These are my two favorite teams playing one another a round too early.

The Spurs fans here give props to Mavs fans that admit to bad calls, but won't do the same in return. This has been a very poorly officiated series on both sides. The home team has gotten the crucial calls in every game.

The sooner that we all admit that, the sooner we can move on.

Face it, the Mavs will get the calls tomorrow night. The Spurs have an uphill battle. If the Spurs prevail then they will get the calls in game 7 on Sunday. It's sadly just the way it works.

i'm not saying there haven't been bad calls in favor of the spurs. of course there have.

but i think when you look at the calls at critcal moments late in these close games, they have been overwhelmingly against SA.

but i agree...it's the way it goes, and the spurs will be up against it tomorrow.

good teams have to play through it.

this has been a tremendous series....great basketball on both sides. the mavs have definitely impressed me. it's a shame this couldn't be the WCF.

really...who DOESN'T want to see this go 7 games?
a game 7 would be other-worldly entertaining!

I did admit to a bad call or two in the Spurs favor in the first game, I just didn't think it was as bad as some of the Mavs fans were crying about.

One thing I'll say, though, is that I didn't see a single Spurs fan complaining about calls after they lost. Unless you count Rack, but I don't think he's a fan, is he? I just think he was mad at the Mavs fans who were crying after game 1.

There were plenty of things I was upset about after games 3 & 4, but I kept my mouth shut about them because you can't blame the refs for a loss. Ultimately the game is on you. A call here or there in those games might have made a difference, but the fact is that the Spurs had both of those games in hand, and just failed to execute when it counted.

I really hope this series goes 7. That would be an amazing game.

Sometimes the calls you don't remember make a difference...

In the second last night, Dallas had just come back and tied the game. Van Horn pulled in a rebound and Parker (I think), knocked the ball from his hands. They called it out on Van Horn, but in the replay it was clearly out on the Spurs. SA took over and went down and hit a three. On the very next series the Mavs had the ball and the Spurs came down with the rebound and the ball went out of bounds. A Mav (Howard I think) was standing there and clearly didn't touch the ball. SA took it down and Duncan had a three-point play.

That is a six-point swing. My point is that crucial calls happen throughout the game. Pretending that Dallas is only getting the crucial calls is tantamount to sour grapes. Any call in the game has the potential to be crucial.

That being said, it is a great series... I knew it would be...

i hear ya. but...when a team goes to the line 50 times in one game, it's hard to think you're getting a fair shake.

but it's been entertaining nonetheless.

To quote Kobe from the TNT show last night...

"Everything can turn on a trifle."

Let's hope this play is the trifle...

It was a good game.

Dallas' main problem was one, Tim Duncan was extremely difficult to guard because he was being aggressive and also, being a Super Star (which we all know the NBA Refs show a distinction), he got the whistle going his way early and got alot of our guys in real early foul trouble.

Two, for some Reason Dirk is not being aggressive. I counted at least 7 times when he had Michael Finley on him in the 4th Quarter and just refused to drive to the hole or back him down. He was just not being aggressive when he had the mismatch.

Three, the Spurs played some good defense torwards the end (Ginoboli).

Once Dirk starts going to the hole and mixing it up in the Paint (again) he will get the whistle too (all Stars do) and I hope he does that tommorrow here in Dallas.
