I've been listening to The Ticket for the past hour plus and the only sports they discussed was a minute or two bash of Roy's coverage abilities. Now they're discussing some movie (American Gangster) at length. No calls from fans, no nothing. I've tried listening to the Ticket before and it's been almost unbearable but I thought I'd give it a shot this week after a huge win. You folks in the Dallas area must be starved for real sports radio. On the flip side, I've been listening to WIP Philly sports ardio this week and I'm loving every minute of the blow-up that's taking place in Philly.

Dont listen to the ticket if you expect to hear anything sports related.

Put it on 103.3 and your 100% sure to get real sports talk and not fart noises, fake jerry's, ect...

I agree. I have been to Dallas many times and their sports radio is not very good and always seemed to be side tracked with a bunch of non-sense. Houston sports radio does a better job and even has Micky Spagnola on once a week to give Cowboy informations.

Norm is the only reason to listen. The rest is 10th grade potty humor and frankly an insult to my intelligence. Pure garbage.

Yeah, they suck at the Ticket. That whole being the #1 sports radio station in the Country and winning the Marconi stuff is all by accident.

Sports Radio should beat you down with sports. A real sports radio station would talk about the upcoming Giants game 12 hours a day all week long to make sure that everything is covered.

Oh, and someone needs to correct trickblue.

trickblue just posted this in the Daily Zone which is a recap of the Jason Witten show. trickblue apparently is really confused because he said that it occurred on the Ticket. We need to go tell him and let him in on the knowledge being dropped here about the Ticket never does sports talk.

A little sensitive....do you own stock in the company that owns the station?

:hammer:

I would add that The Hardline is good to listen to when they talk Baseball. Everything else is nothing but pure garbage.

Thank God for the Internet. I have been listening to 610 WIP and WFan.com and find it very tolerable.

No I just get tired from seeing the same stupid-arse thread every other week in which people make incorrect statements (they never talk sports) and complain that it is not something it never intended to be (nothing but sports).

It is what it is. If you are one of those bores who could listen to people talking about a game for 5 straight days, then you won't like the Ticket. If you like hearing other guy talk, then you will like it.

But the continued ***** about it is getting obnoxious.

It would be as if people made a thread every week complaining that HBO doesn't ever show movies because they show all of these original programming shows and boxing and sports and comedy specials and other things. The logical response would be: HBO doesn't bill itself as only movies, so if that is what you want, then go elsewhere and quit complaining it is not something it never has tried to be.

I flip back and forth between the ticket and 103.3.
Occasionally I get lucky and actually get sports coverage.

103.3 isn't local accept in drive time now and The Ticket guys in the morning make me turn on the Sirius receiver. This morning on the ticket they were gloating over the crappy 990am sports channel's demise. I got to hear that instead of how we are going to attack the Giants defense. Mike and Mike had on Vince Vaughn... yay for sports talk.

At lunch Bob and Dan were talking football so it was a pleasure.

We are 7-1, the Giants are 6-2... but let's not allow a little thing like a compelling game sidetrack us.

Yeah, big game coming up. We should talk about it 14 hours a day for the 6 days preceding it. That way we will certainly cover every aspect it during those 84 hours of talking about the game. By doing this, we will never be boring, never retread the same ground, and always be able to come up with insightful and new information. Cause that would be FUN!

You were lucky.

When I drove into work today at 6:45 AM, I got the dreaded Muse in the News.

One of the most annoying things about The Ticket is they will say they are going to have on someone like Jerry Jones or a prominent players and it turns out to be some stupid bit  .

Exactly. I guess I'm a bore, because I could listen to talk about the Cowboys all day long -- especially this year when we're kicking butt.

There'll be far too many days in the long, long offseason when there won't be a word about football. :(

You do realize that new listeners are tuning in and out throughout the day.

Yes, talking Cowboys, especially when they are 7-1 and have a REALISTIC shot at going to Super Bowl 14 hours a day would be fun!!!

Not to mention the fact that there are other teams in Dallas and state-wide they could focus on.

But then again, Craig and Georgie would have to know about sports to do that  .

Whose crying now?

They are not above criticism.
They are getting great ratings but that is almost by default.
They have attracted the Howard Stern/Russ Martin fans. That wasn't what they intended when they started up.

I am fine with occasional movie talk and even a few segments of nonsense is ok. It can be funny. When that is the show and the sports is relegated to when a Coach or player is on that is just too much bs to even market oneself as a sports station period.

They have the best local sports coverage in the market but it is still wanting at times. They should hire Coop back and give him and Norm the morning show, bump the Musers to 10AM-til Noon. That would balance out the bs with the sports talk fairly well.

I like implant talk, fart noises, potty humor, burping sounds, Entertainment News, Girl-On-Girl talk, etc with a little sports thrown in. It's different

That Generic Sports talk on ESPN blows chunks.
