That's too bad. I was going to listen to Babe's show. Another John Rhadigan show? :laugh2: Oh my. How many times has he failed now? I like Matt Mosely, I hope he's not seriously injured in that trainwreck.

Greg Williams is apparently back in rehab if you believe the various boards.
The ticket does carry the press conferences. They are good at covering sports so long as their hosts do not have to comment on it. The press conference will be on 103.3 as well.

Like I said, 6-6:30 was Cowboys. 6:50-7:10 was aggy. 7:35-7:50 was Mavs. Followed by Wade, followed by the devil non-sports, followed by Jerry, followed by the devil, followed by something I can't recall...

Honestly, there's one of these threads MONTHLY, if not more often, and THE SAME ppl jump on the pile, EVERY TIME. Here's an idea don't FREEKIN' LISTEN if it bothers you so much.

If we're going to keep resurrecting dead threads every month or so, I figured I'd thrown out a few more skeletons.

I've been listening to The Ticket for the past hour plus and the only sports they discussed was a minute or two bash of Roy's coverage abilities. Now they're discussing some movie (American Gangster) at length. No calls from fans, no nothing. I've tried listening to the Ticket before and it's been almost unbearable but I thought I'd give it a shot this week after a huge win. You folks in the Dallas area must be starved for real sports radio. On the flip side, I've been listening to WIP Philly sports ardio this week and I'm loving every minute of the blow-up that's taking place in Philly.

The Ticket is, in their own words, a "beating," a "whip," and "wheels off" when it comes to sports talk. Bob Sterm and Norm are the only ones that have a clue about all sports topics.

People don't seem to understand a very simple point.

It has been proven time and time again that pure "sports" radio DOES NOT WORK. Not in Dallas...not anywhere. Taking callers? Are you kidding me? 90% of the time callers have nothing to add and are only used to fill up air time.

The ticket is not "sports" radio, it's "guy" radio. If you can't handle the occasional fart joke then go ahead and switch over to 103.3.

As a media member I'll tell you that it's widely known that pure sports-talk stations fail on a regular basis. The sports stations that win are the one's that have programming like this...

If you notice the stations that talk X's and O's hour after hour while taking hundreds of calls from guys like "Cowboy Billy" and "Longhorn Larry" have very low ratings and extremely small cumulative audience sizes.

When I moved to Dallas a few years ago I started going through the dial looking for a good station to get some Dallas news.

I had no preconceived notion as to which station was better or not. It did not take long for me to figure out that the ticket for my taste was not going to be my station of choice.

I found 103.3 and never looked back. Due to this thread, I thought I would just tune in to The Ticket just to see what they were talking about.

Some dude was relaying his story about going to New York to run a marathon and how he got sick. Then he was asked something about it being worse than the kick in the (rhymes with puts). The guy answered something along the lines that no the something to his (rhymes with icecycle) was worse. I am paraphrasing here, but that was the gist.

I turn over to 103.3 and they are talking about Cowboy MVP of the season.

For me it was case closed again. I will stick with 103.3, it may not be perfect but for my taste it is better.

When the Grammies added a Metal Music category in 1989...the Band that won the first grammy for that category was...Jethro Tull.

Brittany Spears sells millions of records, and many other no talent hacks.

Almost every news network covered Paris Hilton 24/7 during her jail time situation.

Just because something gets the ratings, just because they get an award...does not make them great or legit.

I can't tell you how much I despise the ticket. Poor, poor Radio. I like the musers in the morning, and Norm is good, but after that, it goes down faster than Paris Hilton at a camera convention.

I like Galloway. He's a pompous (sp) jerk, but by God he'll talk sports till the cows come home, and very little baseball.

90% is cowboys. God bless him.

That's weird, 'cus that comes on at 7:10 EVERY day. From 6-6:30, they talk almost exclusively sports, likewise 7:35 to 7:50 daily. Shall I go on?

7:50, they had the weekly Wade Phillips show, followed at 8:50 by the weekly Jerry Jones show.

Tomorrow, they'll have Troy on at 8:10 for his weekly show. But honestly, I can see how you'd be confused, after all, you apparently have to "sign" every post you make here, to remind yourself who you are.

'Course, that would of defeated your whole point, since at 6:45 they were discussing a+m, and Fran's replacement.

And as far as my use of another ID here, I'd have to be curious as how you'd know that, better yet, why you'd care? Better yet, wanna discuss the "They stole my webpage logo" brouhaha? 'Cus that one still makes me giggle.
