***Dallas trades Fasano and Akin to Miami for 4th round pick (#100)

That's true, but they won't once they see how much the defense improves once you build the strength up the middle. Honestly, when I watched the Giants play us, they ran up the middle on us with a lot of success. Not huge junks but first downs. That killed us.

I think of Mayo is a young Zach Thomas, and yes, I'd like to see us improve up the middle, especially at the WILB position. Less than 50 TKLS just won't due when the rest of the 3-4 teams WILB is getting well over 100. Not to mention he made virtually no big plays.

Thanks. Been reading on the forums for a few months now but with college I been busy. Figured I'd post for the draft and get used to some fans on here.

I agree! Fasano you get on the field like what, 20% of the time and you drop the f'ing ball? I like the trade because I think Curtis can be just as good.

Drop Touchdown passes in the divisonal round of the playoffs
and that will get you traded Fasano...

Wasn't he a 2nd round pick a year back.

This looks like a major dump by Dallas.

I hope we move up in the second with these picks.

Where's the inside info?

Cool.

Well, at least we have Romo. Jerry can't possibly screw that up.

careful.

dont even talk about that.

we will end up with the dolphins first pick in the 2nd round and daunte culpepper taking snaps.

Unless Jerry's second best friend after Lacewell is Joe Simpson?

Anthony single handedly cost us a game because he completely wiffed on a block, forcing Romo to eat a sack while he had TO wide opened running down the field.

I remember several of those wiffs actually.

Fasano just isn't a good blocker or receiver and should not have been picked. He was picked because of Parcells' idiosyncracies:

1. Italian
2. New Jersey
3. Tight End

I was shocked at first also but if you look at the Pacman trade as well............ we basically moved from the #126 pick to #100, recieved Pacman and lost Akin and Fasano.................. it's not that bad people.

Seems to me we didn't get much for these two guys.

However, I think Tony Curtis can flat out play. He has really developed and I expect some very good things from him.

2006 #53 over all :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

Fasano would start on some teams. I'm not that hot on him but he was a solid pick. Fortunately Curtis is the better receiver. But he needs to learn to block as well.

BTW, what happened to that former basketball player who was tried at TE. Is he still a Cowboy?

More time for Curtis alone makes this a reasonable deal. He has better hands and is quicker and showed much more desire than Fasano ever did. He'll need to work on his blocking and strength a bit.

This may also be a prelude to a change to an offense that features more FB. Garrett grew up with Cowboys with Moose leading Emmitt and we rarely used two TE sets. When we did use two TEs, one was basically a pure blocker. We may pick a pure blocking TE in the latter aspects of the draft and try to get one as a UDFA.

Watch out for Fuzzy, Bob, and the Count....they're like the "Jets" of the board. Theogt is the lone "Shark".

I can see them practicing their dance routine right now.

The other TE is Hannah, not sure if that is who you mean.
