I think of Mayo is a young Zach Thomas, and yes, I'd like to see us improve up the middle, especially at the WILB position. Less than 50 TKLS just won't due when the rest of the 3-4 teams WILB is getting well over 100. Not to mention he made virtually no big plays.

I'll tell ya, with a guy like Mayo, you could easily play games along the LOS with he and Ellis. He has the athletic ability to play OLB in a 34. Heck, he could be the edge rusher, that's how much athleticisam he has. He could be the bubble pass rusher as well. Remember Otis Wilson with the Bears? He has the althetic ability to do the same thing if we wanted to change up and just fall into a 46 look right away. Besides, he's from the SEC. You know that this is the deciding factor.

The one thing about that was the fourth use to be the start of the second day so teams had time to take a breath and settle their boards and pick out the talent that should have gone in the first day. Now the third round is the round to do that so its possible the early fourth won't be as good as in years past.

I still think there is a big transition that happens after the first 10 picks or so. I think it is more of a function of how much good talent is produced each year by the colleges. We should basically be drafting mostly BPA here so we should just be reading the name off of our board anyway.

Exactly, I always thought that "regrouping" thing was overrated. Why would a team change its board after the first day anyway?

I don't have any problems with Fasano. It was not his fault he was drafted that high and so on.

I think it was best we just moved on and got something for him and Akin.

Fasano is a solid tight end.

Witten is a probable hall of fame tight end.

thems the breaks. he will be a good player for miami. but he was extra here.

ayodele was another guy. solid guy but just another guy.

Well then you need to get some glasses. Fasano was a better blocker than Curtis...whom was rarely ever even asked to block.

I would disagree with you as well.

I thought Curtis did a tremendous job of blocking last year.

And he also made the most of every opportunity he had.

Which is more than I can say for Fasano.

I would almost go as far to say that Romo won't miss him.

It seemed he purposely didn't look for Fasano anyway.

I am disappointed about trading Fasano too. I thought he was talented, and definitely provided great depth at the tight end position. For him, we'll get to gamble on a 4th round pick. I think Jerry could have done much better.

He's seen the Urlachers etc of the League dominating.......maybe he's looking past Mayo to the top of the heap in ILB

There's a ton of lobbying in that war room, especially the later in the draft you get. As Jerry is so fond of saying, "it's a fluid situation" so it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of teams are totally undecided come round 4 and just have to wait and see who's there before making the final decision, which may come after a lot of consternation.

Curtis actually made a few plays in games which immediately distinguishes himself from TT. Curtis has actually done quite well given the limited number of opportunities he has been given.

Recovering that onside kick in Buffalo was a big-time play under pressure and he showed burst, desire and great hands. I want to see more of what he can do.

In situations like that it's mostly just the bounce of the ball Imo. Not trying to downgrade what Curtis did, which was huge, but he got a good bounce.

That 3rd is worth a ton this year considering it's the #1 pick on day 2.
