Problem I have with this is that Fasano is a player and will be worth at least a third if not a second after a season starting for Miami, not his fault he never got a chance to show it behind an All Pro TE in Witten. Disappointing but not the end of the world certainly have no gripe with losing either and definitely Akin. just disappointing a second round pick becomes half a fourth, and it is not almost a third, rounds end you cant say its almost a third to make your self feel better its still a fourth. Anyway rant over dissappointing but not the end of the world ILB now becomes a need depth who could develop into a starter 3rd round possibility Beau Bell?

I hope this is not true because I think Fasano is a good TE because he showed great talent in pre-season and Aoydele is not that great but is also worth a 3rd so I don't think this is a good move.

So if I'm figuring right the cowboys have made two deals so far in the fourth.

1. We gave up a fourth and got pacman.
2. We give up Fasano and Aydolye and get the fourth back!

We end up with Jones and the first pick in the fourth round, or the last pick in the third round, how ever you want to look at it.

Or if your Miami, you can look at it from their point of veiw, they got Ferg, Fasano and Akin all for a fourth and sixth. Not bad on the dolphins part.

Not the best trade for the cowboys and certainly not the worst though either. It does free up some cap room.

Or, in other words.........we gave up Fasano/Aydoyle for Pacman and moved UP in the 4th, almost to the 3rd.

If Pacman works out, we gotta good deal.........win/win situation there looks like. For everyone.............Dallas/Miami/Tennessee.

I agree. Plus it frees up close to 700,000 in cap space. I think that fourth will be packaged with the #28 and we'll get that vet reciever.

Thats a big IF...I am furtively happy we got Pacman but if you look upon it as we traded Akin and Fasano for as risky a player as Pacman then the value looks very dubious to me.

Then you can look at it this way if it doesn't turn out with pacman.

we moved up in the fourth and get a fith rounder next season.

I don't think there was ever a question as to whether it's a big IF or not...Akin never did anything for me at all and while I like Fasano, it bothers me none to gamble the guy a way......

No doubt it's a risk, but if it pays off........it pays off BIG. If it doesn't (and I really think he'll behave) we get our 4th back and lose a couple players that really, don't thrill me in the least.

Akin was never part of our future long-term.

Besides, we're good for drafting 2-3 tight ends today anyways..... ;)

It was as much as a salarly cap move as anything

Jerry has said....the Boy's cant stockpile All-Pro Players at every position, with a Pro-Bowl guy backing him up............cap wont permit it

I want the Boys to make a move on a Vet WR with pro-bowl credentials and in order to do that and yet resign existing roster moves gotta be made.

Ferguson lost his job - that's why we got rid of him. NOT NEEDED ANYMORE.

Akin lost his job to Thomas. NOT NEEDED ANYMORE.

Fasano wasn't a starter.

What they will be in Miami is irrelevant. They are going to a 1-15 team. Big freaking whoop they are "starters" there - They will start there because Miami sucks donkey. Not because they are great quality players.

Some of y'all need to wake up. These player have little value to anyone not named Bill Parcells. A 4 and a 6 -- actually a swap of 6ths and a 6 next year to be accurate -- is good value for players that otherwise would be cut or contributing mainly on ST for us.

Don't you get it? We want to keep all of our players. :)

What is lost is if you remain stagnant and not make moves you cannot possible improve. Yea there is a risk that you might regress but staying stagnant pave a road of becoming Iggles, always close but never a champion. We are in the business of being a champion not bridesmaids.

This is win win for both teams but in my opinion it is slightly skewed in our favor.

The proposed contract is also very favorable. If Pacman screws up - Jerry has us covered.............Pacman is a dirtbag, but the upside is too much to ignore, especially the way the proposed contract is written up......good job Jerry.

From all the playing time Curtis has gotten, I take it?

Maybe more like what each player has done with that playing time.

Curtis has made the most of his.

And Fasano?
