Spurs series was all about Harris. Suns was all about Howard. Now it's Terry's chance to shine against some shotty perimeter defense. Nobody matches the Mavs' depth and versatility.

The Mavs (minus Terry) played a horrible game, and still won! IMO, this is great. Avery, if he's deserving of the Coach of the Year, will be able to make this team play better. They should win Game 2.

NO Team with Antoine Walker on it (and ESPECIALLY as a starter) will EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER win a championship!!!! End of discussion. :lmao:

Mavs in 6. I'm surprised how many people picked the heat to win in all the other forums. I've done my homework and about 75% of all the votes have gone for the heat. Thats not including the 46 states that picked the heat over the mavs. I saw that on ESPN. Nothing but a bunch of Cuban haters. Go Mavs!

I've thought for a while now that no other player in the NBA can singlehandedly lose games for his team as well as Walker. I laugh whenever analysts call him the x-factor because I know exactly what that factor will be.

It's all about star power in those nationwide polls. Most of those polled have no idea, probably have only watched a handful of games from either team aside from a few playoff games. If they don't know, then they see superstar matchups like Dirk v. Wade and Shaq... they pick Shaq. That's really all the thought they put into it.

I had the mavs in 6. I cant stand the miami cheat. Dallas is far to quick, athletic, and to deep for miami. Miami has had trouble all year long with teams that have quickness on the perimeter, and the mavs have an abundance of that. Kudos to diop, and dampier for frustrating SHAQ. The mavs have already closed out the spurs ,and suns on the road, and it wouldnt suprise me if this series ends down here in miami. The mavs have to many weapons for miami.

Dallas CANNOT get complacent here, they have to take ATLEAST one game here. Two would be great. Three, impossible.

Yeah, taking all three games in Miami would be a neat trick.

Howard has 20+, Mavs are now guarenteed to win.

Good Job!

:bang2:

juuuuust kidding...:)

Don't worry guys, Avery will get in the players' minds. They lost this game, the Heat didn't win it.

I think we win Game 4.

Ok guys, how do you think this loss affects the Mavericks?

Will this be the impetus for a Heat series win?

P.S. sorry about the double post mods

Miami needed Wade to go for 40 plus points in a 22-7 run to beat the Mavs by 2. Wade will need 40 points for the rest of the series for the Heat to have a chance to win this game. Dallas choked this one tonight.

I think Avery will light a fire in the players and they come out smoking in game 4 win that game. The Mavs are fine.I think Dallas is by far the superior team and Avery should have never changed the lineup with 6 minutes to go. Should have kept Dampier(who is the best center in this series so far, period) on the floor.

guess not... :)

j/k

Just some observations from watching two of the three games. While the Mavs are playing pretty good ball, I don't see them dominating the Heat as one would expect. Considering the Heat have been playing so badly, the Mavs should've been running all over and through the Heat. They've only done that in Game 2.

The Mavs are playing their game and the D is solid, but not spectacular. And I don't mean that in a bad way, because it's worked for the most part. They're definitely out-hustling the Heat.

What I see is that alot of the Heats bad play is self-inflicted. I can't honestly say that the Mavs are really making the Heat play outside of their style. The Heat have been careless with the ball. They're blowing layups. Missing short jumpers they were making in the previous series. Their role players aren't really hitting shots that they were making before.

Wade is playing non-Wade-like. Even last night wasn't a typical Wade night, despite the 40+ points. Shaq is playing about like he's played throughout the playoffs. He was only spectacular and dominating in the Piston series. But in the other series they played, this was the norm.

If nothing else, last night made it a series.

Wade goes for 40+ hits alot of clutch jumpers (including a huge 3 which almost he never takes) and he still had a un-wade like night.

Odd...

Just calling it like I saw it.

He didn't turn it on consistently until the 2nd half. But the first half, no matter his numbers was sub-par. Got a travel call, cuz he jumped in the air to make a pass, but had no one to throw it to. That's dumb. Why do you need to be in the air to make a pass. Mishandling the ball and loosing out of bounds. Bad passes in traffic across the court w/Mavs players jumping them. It was just like he had butterfingers with the ball. Missing free throws. (Actually the whole Heat team should run lines for missing that many free throws in a game) He gets called for a technical for jawing w/the ref...

He needed to make that 40 to overcome all that.

Dewayne Wade is very turnover prone as his career numbers will tell you that and it has been heavily discussed throughout the series. He even hit a three, which the announcers pointed out that he only made 12 the entire season. Also he didnt get called for a technical last night (Game 2 he did), that was Gary Payton.

He was spectacular and I have a hard time believing the guy can play any better then what he did.

Haslem, Shaq, and Wade having Monster Games. Shaq hitting free throws. Gary Payton hitting a big shot  . This was the Heats best effort and the Mavs still could have sent it into overtime.

We lost but I wont get worried until the series is tied.
