Saints put up 26 against the worst secondary in the league and you think they put up almost twice that against us huh? :laugh2:
Not saying they will do this, but they did put up 48 vs BOTH New York and Philly....and 38 vs NE before taking the 4th quarter off. They do seem to rise to the competition.

The Saints have never and will never win anything worth anything.

Awful teams have given the saints problems.

The Cowboys will make it a game and with some luck, we'll take the W.
They may have never won anything, but they've beaten us 5 in a row.

Still, I do think a win is possible....15% odds? maybe better.

I agree. The Cowboys CAN win this game if they come in and play their very best and the Saints come in flat. I cannot see the second happening and Dallas has not proved that they can accomplish the first.

The Cowboys are capable of lining up and beating you guys outright. I've got nothing but respect for the Saints, and mad respect for Drew Brees, but you're not in a situation where you just play your game and win automatically this week. If Ware's out, it's a different story, but I think Ware's probably playing.

If Ware is a make or break player for the success of the team that isn't saying much for the rest of the roster. The Saints are fully capable of just lining up and playing their game and defeating the Cowboys. Do not forget that Dallas is 1-5 against teams with winning records. It would take a sub par effort by the Saints to lose. While that is remotely possible, it is not something I would think would happen given all of the factors in play.

Nope. Nothing more than an honest evaluation that is clearly shared by 80% of Cowboys fans on this board. I expect a 7 to 10 point win for the Saints is very reasonable. If the game was in Dallas it would be a different story altogether. The Saints, like every NFL team, has very real flaws. That is why their opponents are averaging around 21 points. That's about three points per game more than the Cowboys. On the other hand, The Saints are averaging around 36 points per game on offense, exactly 13 points per game more than Dallas.

To this point, New Orleans is nothing more than a very well balanced team with a 13-0 record and nothing more is being looked at as a goal other than becoming a very well balanced team with a 14-0 record.

And the Cowboys are fully capable of doing the same to the Saints. Thing is, they're just as likely to shoot themselves in the foot and make it easy for the Saints.

Your defense, turnovers aside, is pretty average. If the Cowboys are on and play the way they really should (without the repeated, ridiculous mistakes) they have the talent to make this a game and outright beat the Saints.

But again, the problem is as it has been for years...this team underachieves on an epic scale, and the Saints are likely to be this week's beneficiary of a team that just can't seem to get out of the way of themselves...

Strong trend factor:
There has only been one 16-0 regular season record for good reason. I find it interesting nobody has spoken on this. It's a very real factor. So often we see very good to great teams that get off to a 10-0 to 12-0 start, only to stub their toe in the final 4-6 weeks. And it's usually it's a home game nobody thought they'd lose

Weak trend factor:
Romo is 9-0 in primetime road games.

Why I think we can/will win:
Because we're actually a pretty good team. Certainly better than we've demonstrated the past 5 games. We may be the best team NO has played this season.

Our defense is very good. Especially our secondary. It's performed above expectations against some of the better passing teams. Phila, GB, SD.
I don't see this as the match-up nightmare that many here do. I actually believe we'll cause more trouble for them than any defense they've faced. Now don't get me wrong. I'm not expecting us to hold them under 20 points! But I do expect us to hold them well below their season avg.

The real key to the game is our offense. Their defense is good, but certainly not great. We've played better this year. Den, Phila, GB, SD.
But our offense hasn't played up to it's expectations or talent for the most part.
That can change and it can happen in one game. This could be the catlyst to propel us to a nice post-season run.

Romo needs to give us his very best and Felix needs to lead us in rushing attempts this game. 15+ at a min.

Ware's a make-or-break player on any team. He changes your gameplan when he's playing. Needing him in a close game says almost nothing about the rest of the roster.

I guess we'll see on Sat. Your guys are telling the press they've been looking forward to this one for some time, so there won't be any excuses if we walk into your house and beat your undefeated team at full strength. If we get the win, I won't even care that you want to use sub-par play as an excuse.

To be honest, I feel week 17 versus the Panthers at Carolina would be our best shot of losing one of the final three. At this point, clinching home field advantage is critical. Most of those 10-0, 12-0 teams you refer to lost because of lack of focus and I think you would be surprised at how many were on the road. I will guarantee you that the Saints will be focused.

I also think you may be underestimating the crowd's affect. Patriots fans that attended the Monday night game said it was the loudest crowd they have ever heard, clearly louder even than the Colts supposed "piped in" noise.

Yup. He could have played last week. He was one of the players that Payton gave an extra week of rest to prepare for this week.

Well, there is that nasty mole...

Yup. That's what I was saying about no letdown or lack of focus. If the Cowboys can pull out a win in the Dome, at night, they clearly make a case for being the better team.

If we can pull out a win it means we are 9-5 and come a bit closer to achieving one of the team’s goals. New Orleans will still be the division and likely the best record in the conference and New Orleans will still be looked at as the better team overall.

Panthers suck. I know it's a division rival road game, but those guys will already be packed. No way the Saints rest enough players or allow the Panthers to deny them a perfect season in week 17.

IF the Saints lose this season it will be Saturday night.

I also don't expect a let down or lack of focus. I just think these teams are closer than most would suspect. Also counting on a little law of large numbers kicking in against the Saints.

Perhaps a few breaks go our way for a change:
Maybe a couple of non PI calls go our way.
Perhaps a fumble or two.
Maybe we deflect a few Brees passes at the line and one goes for an INT.

What did they beat us by the last time we played them at home late in the year? Was it 45-17? :(
