Dallas will workout Suisham on Monday; contacts PK Rayner as well

All his misses came at pretty critical times in games the Commanders could have won if he had made them.

When you average 18 points per game ALL field goals are HUGE.

Shuisam IS 9th in the league (amongst kickers with over 10 attempts) with 86% of kicks made. He missed one chippie and one 30+ yarder but made all his 40 to 49 yard attempts. He missed his only attempt over 50 yards.

LAST year Folk was 20-22, this year Shuisam was 18--21.... that's basically right near Pro Bowl caliber.

Washington cut him because they were losing every week and needed to do something.

I guess the point some would make is if he misses gimme kicks at huge moments for one team, he might well do it for another

If they sign him I hope it works out...it would be funny as hell if we sign him and 6 days later he beats the Skins in DC with a game ending FG...

I hear ya there but if Folk has been great all year then just missed kicks against NO and SD we wouldn't be talking about cutting him but instead getting him right.

Dallas dealt with missed kicks in every situation from Folk.

In the Commanders 1st win, Shuisam scored every point... they won 9-7.

In their 2nd win they win by 3 and Shuisam made his only FG attempt a 42 yarder.

In the only other win they had with Shuisam on the roster the guy hit 2 4th quarter field goals and had zero misses in a game they won by 10....

So all in all, every kick he attempted for them was huge and when he missed it cost them chances at wins.

It wasn't just because of Suisham's crucial misses that we got rid of him. He has a weak leg on kickoffs, which won't be an issue for the Cowboys.

I remember him missing a short one at Dallas right before halftime. Are we sure he's a better option than Folk?

No offense man but you guys are averaging 29 points a game the last 3 and STILL only 18 on the year. If you cut a kicker because he wasn't booming kick-offs that's just another reason Cerrato had to go.

Nope. But then there are few guarantees in life.

All I know is that Folks' pregame misses looked like something you'd see on a cartoon. They were crazy bad.

I just can't get over the fact we drafted Buehler and he can't kick FG's.

they drafted him to upgrade a very weak part of the special teams, and he's been exceptional

its not that he CANT kick fg's...he did it at USC...just not that accurate

But how bad is Buehler if he cant do much better. geez

Did Buehler kick field goals in college or was he just a KO specialist? If he kicked them in college, why in the hell can't he kick them now?????

There are only two other people that can kick field goals on the planet, and Suisham is one of them? ***???? We are worried Folk is going to miss one and cost us a game, so we want to go sign a guy who has missed two that did cost his team games? What planet did I land on?

Man, no kidding.

But no, after seeing that display of his pregame warmups, I think he has to go, even if the next guy isn't much better. :(

Seeing that I thought they shoulda just benched him right there. But that first kick was money... so it is hard to say the warmups stuff meant crap

I'd rather take my chances with any member of this board than watch Folk miss another kick.

Time to shut him down.

After perusing those names, I'm almost tempted to give Folk another week.

Yeah, OK. Folk missed a 25 yrd FG lined up perfectly indoors. The guy is mentally shot. Those shanks in pregame warmups was a perfect indication he's lost it. The move should've been made 2 weeks ago.

The Cowboys are scheduled to work out free agent PK Shaun Suisham on Monday.
The club is looking to replace Nick Folk, and also gave Dave Rayner a call. Rookie kickoff specialist David Buehler does not appear to be an option.

Good Lord, Dave Rayner????

He is a career 71%, I would just rather have Romo go for it on 4th down.

Let's just say I've never seen a football curve like that with no wind. I don't even know how he did it.

Granted, I'm sure they showed only the worst ones, but there were five or six that were just crazy bad. And not just one way -- he was hooking and slicing.

I think this is what is most disturbing to fans, it was not just a doink off the upright, it was all those wild-arse kicks in the pregame they showed.

Seriously, I have never seen a kicker scatter shot kicks like that in a freaking dome, I really dont know how you could even miss that bad if you were trying on purpose. We are not just talking about just missing an upright, we are talking about dog leg hooks that went out the side of the endzone, not the back of it!!!!!
