Unfortunately, I think Dalton played himself out of a deal with the Cowboys at the wrong time.

Not sure if he would have went to another team and got paid. But that's not important, because that opportunity is gone.

1 TD in 6 games by a Cowboy te on a rinky dink 5 yard catch and mistackle and of course against Philly/ division rival.

This 3-4 TD a year te core scheme is garbage going back 10+ years lol

Its embarrassing watching these jag tes playing all those unearned snap counts

Cheers to all of those who drank the Dalton Schultz franchise tag koolaide. I told ya so I told ya so

You can't stay on the club if you can't get out of the tub. PS. He is one dimensional and always has been. Smallish receiving tight end without elite speed or catch radius and can't block a lick. He is smart and understands the game and has good hands and runs good routes. That makes him a middle of the road tight end, nothing more nothing less.
Last year he was between 7 and 10 in terms of
Nfl tight ends.

And how many times have we seen a great #2 struggle mightily moving up to #1? The Cowboys don't have a legit #1. They have solid #2s, with CeeDee being borderline #1. This isn't like 2018 where they said we had all #2s, they all sucked in 2018 save for Beasley. Hell, TWill was a decent WR when Dez was running around out there.

BTW, and I hate to say this, but Gallup doesn't run crisp routes. His talent is the knack for getting open deep and getting some good separation in the open field. But curls, hitches, comebacks, that's not his thing. It has never been.

My recollection is that Gallup was one of the top starting WRs in the league for getting no help man coverage.

Do we have *any* good route runners? I don't see speed, route running, or quickness in our WRs.

I've said for years that Cooper was the straw that stirred the drink. The one guy defenses had to account for. Now he's gone, and the receiving corps looks pretty pedestrian.

I find it hilarious, that those who criticize Daks mental acuity, are some of the smallest mental midgets I 've ever had the misfortune to encounter
This mental midget has played and coached for 15 yrs. It’s a well known fact that Dak doesn’t process quickly. It was known on his college scouting report and continues today. If you’re too blind to see that, then you have extremely limited football knowledge and are just a Dak homer.

Okay, Jerry and company have made enough legitimate blunders without having to blame him for not predicting the future.

Do you think they would be paying the franchise tag price for Schultz if they knew their two rookie TE's would be so productive?

Let's just be grateful we have that depth, They also contributed to a good start despite losing the starting QB for five games. You never know, we might end up needing all three this season when it's all said and done. Then we can thank Schultz and give him the opportunity to check the free agent market

Sadly that was last year. I just think they will go for cheaper alternatives, but I could be wrong. Zeke will be gone next year for sure and I guess it depends on how much cap space we have remaining after we eat part of his contract. Schultz isn't going to command a big contract unless he suddenly heals up and plays lights out ball.

We really can't go by the Eagles game. Most of our opponents dared us to pass. The eagles looked like they were doing the opposite. Using 6 guys to stop the run, and daring Rush to throw into coverage. With corners up on the WRs.

Let's give it a few weeks with Dak back to get a true picture. So far all we have is week 1.

Schultz "does" have a place on this team.
The guy has his flaws, and he's limited but he's not a bum.

Hes not a guy that has zero skills to offer.
His knack and feel for soft spots in zone coverages does comes in handy and he's been frequent about that.
He can bring serviceable production in certain " schematically " way - per soft zones, roll-outs,

Up until now, he had been very durable and available.
I have no issue with franchising him in a " rental " year, but like that they recognize him as a certain tier type TE than among the
highest paid TEs.

The one spot that has me wanting him outta the lineup is his blocking, whether in-line or in space, he's mediocre at it.
and it's affecting too many plays, such as those overkilled bubble screens Kellen insists on running,
and we tend to lose the edge in the run game with Dalton's blocking.

It's fine that we disagree. But talk like this ruins our community.

You are lecturing other people about mental acuity, while talking like a 6th grade playground bully.
