Saw something briefly in Liafau that I didn’t like. It wasn’t a big deal for now but I hope it doesn’t escalate.

First half, they are losing and getting beat up front like a dog. They stop a 1st and 10 for a three yard gain and he seems to want to go all Jaylon Smith about it.

Can’t advise him enough to shelve that act if he has any designs on it being that.

Maybe he missed a practice, or showed up late, something happened at practice this week, this is what we look like with Damone Clark, a replay of the GB playoff game
To be honest I think Clark looked significantly better than Overshown against the run. Neither were anything to brag about, but Overshown looked like he was a DB playing out of position.

A lot was different from game one to game two player/playtime wise. And I didn't get it. LBs, RBs, even DL all seemed to be different rotations than week one that I saw. And I don't know why you would change things that seemed to work for the unknown like we did.

Overshown got destroyed in the run game in the 1st half. I'd expect his snaps to vary pretty heavily week to week depending on the opponent. I was asking the same questions about how he didnt see the field more until I put the tape on and it became obvious that he should not be in the game often against 2wr sets. I'd expect a higher snap count next week as hes probably used to spy on Jackson quite often.
Dude barely even played in the first half lmao. He didn’t get in the game till we were down 2 scores. Clark & Liufau did no better, & Kendricks looked slow as hell out there.

Kendricks is the only guy the Cowboys have to play the middle which is an issue I had coming into the season. For that reason he wont be coming off the field much. Clark was nothing to brag about but did OK, Liufau wasnt very good but I think they were both better than Overshown, at least against the run. The guy simply isn't a good fit against heavier packages from the offense. Honestly go rewatch the game and look the plays at:

2nd Quarter:
7:03
6:16
4:47
2:54

4th Quarter
12:59

That last play in Q2 was embarrassingly bad. The entire series he was in starting at 7:43 in Q2 he simply cannot take on a block, even when he had a blocker beat he couldnt power through.

Dont get me wrong either, I think Overshown is going to be a pro bowler before its all said and done, but this was not a very good performance and I completely understand why Zim would pick and choose his spots with Overshown right now.

Overshown was a spectator on the Kamara charge to the EZ on one of their td's. Like the rest of the troops he was out site seeing

Maybe they still mistake him for Gallup on Sundays and don'tcall his number.

Yes I noticed he appeared to be much slower compared to how he played in Week 1.
He had no speed to catch them from behind. He was OK if they were running at him, but pursuit wasn’t there.

He's coming off a torn ACL and had a hip issue in camp. I think the coaches know to take it easy on him for the first few weeks. If he's obviously better than Clark he'll eventually play him more
Clark and Overshown play different positions. Overshown is the nickel linebacker while Clark is a strong side lb. If you guys would pay attention and not just look at stats, the Saints offense was more of a power run game that played a fullback and two receivers. We sent out our base defense against the Saints because the formation dictated it. Overshown is our nickel linebacker along with Kendricks. By the way Overshown got whipped as well as all of our defense.

Watching a lot of the defensive clips from yesterday, the LBs had no chance with the DTs consistently getting pushed into the LBs feet 3-5 yards downfield.

I look at the names of those three LBers and wonder.

If I were to add up their combined years of NFL experience using my fingers, then I wouldn't even have to use my second hand......even if my first hand had three fingers amputated.

Clark has looked like hot garbage since we drafted him. Absolutely clueless play recognition and a liability in coverage.
