But all grass tastes like crap.Grass seems greener. Same grass.
We're using metaphors, right?

Game mgmt skills are what a HC does.Just as a general reminder, MM started looking MUCH better as a coach when Quinn showed up. When Nolan was here people wanted MM gone in his first year.
Its really is Quinn that is driving this bus from a staff standpoint. MM admitted that he didn't even know the offense, let alone the defense. No way I let Quinn walk just to save MM. MM really doesn't even do that much. Do people want to keep him around for his "game management" skills?
I would also take Quinn over Payton at this point.
I think he was taking a shot at MM's clock management.Game mgmt skills are what a HC does.

Yup I'll find an offensive coordinator or who knows maybe kellen Moore will come aroundIf Mike McCarthy is fired after this season, would you rather bring in Sean Payton or promote Dan Quinn to head coach?
DQ has totally transformed the Cowboys Defense so much so that regardless of how this season ends for the Cowboys, he's gonna be head coach somewhere. Part of me would rather it be here, even at the potential expense of potentially bringing in Sean Payton.
Thoughts?
Soooo... give Payton ALL football decision making power, but force Quinn on him?Payton with Quinn as DC. Payton with ALL football team decision power. Payton's offense and no Moore.
That was a good dream.

How does that work?

If you are talking strictly as head coach, it’s not even a legitimate question. Sean Payton all day long. Plus he would bring some changes and nuance to the offensive system that McCarthy has not.If Mike McCarthy is fired after this season, would you rather bring in Sean Payton or promote Dan Quinn to head coach?

27 years and counting. If Mike McCarthy is fired after this season, would you rather bring in Sean Payton or promote Dan Quinn to head coach?

Totally understand.Good point. Touche.
Guess I was assigning a DC to the HC.
Just as the previous 2 OCs have been assigned to the HC.
So more like Payton with his own personally chosen staff.
My bad. I guess I just liked the pairing from a fans standpoint.
So if he leads the team to a SB win, you still want to move away from MM? Why?27 years and counting.
Would prefer to keep Dan Quinn and just walk away from Big Mike no matter the outcome. I guess if we win the SB we have to keep him but otherwise move off of him.
Sean Payton isn't coming to the Cowboys, so this thread is moot. Even if Jerry promises Sean that he'll stay out of the way, everyone knows he's a liar.
Yes I would. Many of you won't believe me but back in 2007 when we lost to the Giants, the Cowboys should have fired Wade and that is what I was telling all my friends/ Cowboys fans/ co-workers. People thought I was crazy but the truth is once a coach is in the building the players know who he is, they know who runs the show.So if he leads the team to a SB win, you still want to move away from MM? Why?
