Dan Quinn to be Commanders new HC per Schefter

The Commanders got rid of one Dan just to hire another Dan that ain’t gonna help them win anything.

Damn "Those Dan's"  :lmao2:

Not true. The defense played well against the Rams, Lions, and Dolphins
Id like to agree but we beat the rams when they were bad,we all know we should have lost that game against the lions but I'll give them credit against Miami..

Commander fan huh.
Actually, they are the only team I hate. The hate started in 1974. I have never hated the Eagles or Giants, or even the old NFC East Cardinals. But I have hated the RedFootballCommandersSkins for 50 years.

Pretty sure there's a sizeable part of the fan base that wanted both gone. Hell, I'd go one further and even include MM in there.

If Dan Quinn would have came back. I would have said this would be the last season in which we saw Dak, McCarthy and Dan Quinn all on the same team. Because other than the Cowboys getting to the Super Bowl. Another bad playoff loss like the one we had against the Packers would have seen all 3 out of Dallas within the next few seasons or so.

Kinda not surprised DQ got the job, i am sure they wanted to go younger and get the DC of the Ravens, MacDonald, but the Seahawks snatched him up and they were stuck with DQ in this coaching carousel. DQ knew his time was up in Dallas and saved face with this last job opening.

Micah too...remember he said he might leave with Q.

B'bye...
You do know Micah just can't go play for whomever he wants, right? He is under contract and can be tagged 2 times I believe. If Dallas wants to keep him, he is here 4 more years.

Having said that, there a few picks Wash has that I would take for Micah, #2 #36 and # 40 all sound good to me, not one of the 3 all of them.

He can only take a defensive coordinator with him. Everyone else is under contract.
Teams will typically allow a promoted former coordinator take who he wants to take from his staff. The new Coordinator is going to want to hire his own guys anyway - guys he already has relationships with.

Normally, a team isn’t going to block assistants moving to a new team if their coordinator gets a HC gig, unless they intend to promote internally. Allowing Whitt and Harris to leave is an indication the Cowboys and McCarthy already have a plan in place to replace Quinn, and they expected him to leave and take some assistant coaches with him.

LOL. Cowboys and having a plan. You are a funny guy.

Will any of the defensive assistants follow him to Washington?

sniffle

Seriously though, as bad as it ended, the guy made our defense relevant again so I can't rag on that and am grateful for that reason. Just needed something extra that he couldn't quite muster in his time here.
Ditto:thumbup:

Hoping Harris and Whitt do. Then and only then will they have to look outside the building. Which can be bad or good. Depending on the route they take. Me personally. I am looking at someone to bring in as asst HC. So he can take over next season. Or mid season. No one is signing a long term deal without that guarantee because Jerry has backed us into a corner by not extending MM but by also confirming him.

That isn’t a serious question. It is a fantasy.
I never play the lotto, so I can't win. I can still dream about winning a couple billion of dollars, just like dreaming about a new ownership of the Cowboys;)

It would be malpractice not to have a plan. The NFL community talked all of the 2023 season about the inevitability of Dan Quinn becoming a Head Coach in 2024.

If you think Mike McCarthy doesn’t have a plan to replace him, you are simply being foolish. This isn’t his first rodeo, and he’s a much better Head Coach than many give him credit for being.
