They do need both. With only three top 100 picks, there is so much you can do. Figure DT, RB, WR, And Edge are our biggest needs
It depends on who the coach is but wide receiver can be covered in free agency. I think we have enough receivers but our scheme sucks offensively. CeeDee and Turpin should be enough to open the middle of the field so others can eat. A great running back would do wonders as well. I just think you take advantage of the depth along the front 7 that this draft offers.

We need another high level receiver to take pressure off of Lamb

We need a running back more than a receiver. The passing game issue is that we cannot run the football. San Francisco exposed us 3 years ago when we had Cooper, CeeDee, and company. If a team can stop your running game with their front 4, your offense has no chance. Especially Big Mike’s offense. That is why I am a proponent of drafting 2 front 7 players with our first two picks. Can you imagine Diggs and Bland knowing a team has to pass and Micah/Overshown.

I’d consider WR and RB both huge needs…and the value of WR in the open market is what double that of a good RB?

Also - SF beat us when we had a great WR room bc the OL forgot how to block. I think Tyron gave up more pressures in that game than he did in like half the season if I remember correctly.

San Francisco knew we couldn’t run the ball on them. They played a defense that forced Dak to make throws that he can’t make. We have got to get better at running the football but we don’t need to waste a top draft choice to do that. We have been there done that with a great receiving core. We are about to play a team that has two studs and they stink record wise.

No doubt you need to be able to run the football against the top defenses, but you also need a pass offense that cannot take away our best weapon cause there is no one else

Force Dak to make throws he can’t make?

Cmon man…dude was just runner up MVP last year and he should’ve won. That wasn’t the problem…

The OL was awful and we couldn’t run or protect to effectively throw the ball.

We gonna agree to disagree. San Francisco has solved Dak four straight games and the offensive line was not the problem in three of those games. San Francisco defense is a puzzle we can’t solve. Dak is the problem.

I think we have a scheme issue and Dak is starting to become a problem.

Dak usually plays well when he has talent around him, talent is below average at the moment, their scheme is from the 80’s and outdated
Dak’s deep ball has been a problem since the last loss to 49ers in the playoffs. I remember his strength was hitting the deep ball to Cooper and Gallup constantly. Now he seems to overthrow or under throw guys. Just something I have noticed besides his lack of being a running threat. Something is off with him and I hope he can get it together. You can’t have talent at every position so maybe one of these young backs with juice can help along with scheme. Dak seems to thrive with 12 personnel.

Was Dak better off with Kellen and Garrett’s system? Dak was excellent in 2023 but to me he was at his best between 2022-2023. I want us to improve our 12 personnel package. You are beating the drum for 3/4 defense. I am backing 12 personnel.

45 rushing yards and Tyron doing this:

Per PFF:

“The Cowboys got a drastically uncharacteristic performance from left tackle Tyron Smith, who allowed seven pressures on 51 pass-blocking snaps. The veteran tackle allowed just 11 pressures over the entire regular season, showing just how much of an anomaly tonight was.”

Just blaming the game on Dak is lazy.

I am going to apologize for my Dak attack. We started talking about the 49ers and I got upset. Goodness we should have beaten them in both playoff games. We certainly had our chances.

San Francisco front 7 has whipped our offensive line for four straight games. It’s amazing how the Cowboys offensive line plays against the Eagles front four but struggles with the 49ers. We even held up against the Steelers this season. I don’t know what they do but they have our number.

I am beating the drum on big personnel within our front 7.

Yea they’re just a better team with more talent and better coaching. Of course Dak could’ve played better in those games but he didn’t get much help from the O in that first L.

SF does basically own us as a team though.

Sadly the Joneses don’t understand this is a young man’s game.
