I think criticizing Jerry for prioritizing glamor players devolves into groupthink at times. Its a go to mentality for some any time a skill player gets mentioned as a top pick. You have to recognize WR is a critical position. If you have one great one, you still dont have enough if you are devoid of talent behind him. Needing Lamb to catch 120-130 passes to have a viable offense is not a recipe for real success
100% agree…Lamb is special. The fact he’s top 5 in yards with zero help and a bad QB in Rush solidifies we have an elite WR but it’s not enough when comparing our weapons to the Eagles, Lions, 49ers etc.

I think we all agree, there is a major need to find another high level receiver to take pressure off of Lamb. Question is how do we acquire such receiver? Draft, fa, trade?

I’m leaning 1st round pick or trade…I’d love to know who might be available via trade.

Players always come available. Wonder if the Jets make that Ohio State receiver available as they have to pay Adams big contract.

You mentioned trade, draft or FA options to upgrade WR......I think you can take trade off the table. It would cost a draft pick and a players salary for a high-level guy. FA is certainly an option .......we could have several cap casualties, especially with the league trending back to the run game a bit. Take a look at this list WR salaries/contracts......Mike Evans, Deebo and Keenan Allen just to name a few. I'm sure a number of players whose contracts end in 2025 probably need attention coz little or no guaranteed money left.

Similar deal like Cooks where it cost a 5th rd pick and they were able to take on some of salary

What are your thoughts about Adam Thielan. Had a 1k season last yr with terrible qb play. He is aging, but has 1 yr left on his deal and would be a good veteran short term type

Interesting this mock has Dallas taking another WR , round one a 5’11” receiver in Luther Burden , the DT I like round one goes to Arizona further down the round Walter Nolen and even further down the 1st the Commanders take Ashton Jeanty the home run back .

That would be quite a combo with Robinson but when Daniels is throwing to Noah Brown the Commanders are the team in need of WR help.

I’ve said it all along the Cowboys round one round two both need to be on defense . Teams like the Saints Ravens Lions Eagles just cut through this defense and before you know it it’s 28-10 third quarter good night . Lions could have easily hung 50 plus on this squad .

I don’t think they take Jeanty. Robinson is a stud and Ekeler is a great complementary back (minus the consussions

Commanders had no running game minus Robinson in the Cowboy loss. Jeanty and Robinson gives them the two headed running attack the Lions throw out

Ehh highly unlikely…Adams is about washed and Wilson is the future.

Plus he’s about to require a massive contract.

I have decided that I am in the camp of waiting to at least the third round before drafting a running back especially if we finish in the top 10. We need to upgrade the lines especially on defense. I see 4 elite playmakers on our defense that need to be protected. I am for double dipping our first two picks on defensive lineman. This is probably the only reason I would back Belicheck as coach or the return of Zimmer as the defensive coordinator

This defense needs the first two picks of the draft rounds one & two . A DT and a LB or second round perhaps an Edge , The LB crew is really thin I would prefer a bigger LB in the middle then Kendrick’s . Even if Kendrick’s came back this LB position needs another one . Buddy Johnson Nick Vigil Damone Clark are all ST types .

Liufau Overshown & maybe Kendrick’s that’s it .

A WR round one is foolish

I agree, but do really like both Hampton, Johnson where both won’t be there in the 3rd rd.

We can add DT, Edge or even a big Mike LB to the those top 2 picks. Load up on the front 7

There some wild cards defensive lineman that Dane was talking about on one of the YouTube shows that I might gamble on if we pick 15 or lower in the first round. One kid supposedly has Chris Jones potential. I really need to take a look at him. Sounds like a defensive version of Tyler Smith.

I love the big three backs but I am actually thinking realistically. Our team needs two top 50 front 7 players more then a star running back right now.

They do need both. With only three top 100 picks, there is so much you can do. Figure DT, RB, WR, And Edge are our biggest needs
