Jones is a decent QB. Not elite, but better than many here are giving him credit for. He struggled early in his career after being drafted high by a mediocre team. I blame the team and coaching more than the player, but it does take some players longer than others to develop. He is playing well now.

He will get paid. The Giants are not going backwards.
Until this year he was awful.

It's weird how, because QB is the most important position, if you are just above average you get paid at the highest tier. There's no levels to it.

More credit to HC Daboll and his staff.
Obviously, they deserve some credit but at the end of the day Jones' running was the straw that stirred the drink. He took the physical toll that comes along with it.

If they keep him, now they have to put some weapons around him.

Listening to local radio on this.

Apparently the Giants are willing to go 5/190. Don’t know about guaranteed money but figure at least half.

That’s nuts considering what he hasn’t accomplished….and may very well be a product of the coach.

And he wants more.

It’s amazing how fans expect players to take friendly deals rather than maximizing on their generational wealth. Only reason dudes like Mahomes have incentive otherwise is because they know they have a potential legacy to build so it makes sense to shave off a little bit of money in exchange for that
A guy like Mahomes takes that kind of deal is because he wants to stay a Chief and play with Andy Reid as his coach. He knows how good Reid is. Just like Bellicheck.

Homie threw 15 TDs in 17 games last season and wants $45mil a year? He put up Trent Dilfer numbers and wants Patrick Mahomes money.

Dude is a JAG. QB salary inflation is getting out of hand.
Jones is the epitome of a JAG. His legs are the ONLY think dangerous. AS a QB he is terrible throwing the ball overall.

Jones had a decent season so that should take advantage of that miracle and trade him. In no way should they resign the guy. Would be a huge huge mistake.

I thought Geno had an incredible year. Really, he looked amazing. Is it a fluke year or did he just have outstanding weapons? I thought he passed the ball really well.
You know Roy, some players are late bloomers. I'm thinking Geno may very well be one of those players coz I'm by late season, defensive coordinators were throwing everything they had at him but he was still standing.
What did Geno tell them.........."they wrote me off but I didn't write back" :lmao:

Love that line. Geno is a guy that could goto SF or the Jets and have a shot to win it all. Definitely SF.

NY will pay Jones what he wants. They designed the offense around him and he produced, taking a team with pretty bad receivers to the playoffs. They need a QB who can run the ball, or they need to improve several other spots if they simply sign a vet pocket passer.

Im sure Daboll wants him back.

Don't underestimate the leverage applied by the NFLPA and the greed of the Agency involved.
