but honestly where does this hype come from ?? Because he's from Texas Tech because he could be like Wayne Chebert/ Wes Welker he still is an UDFA and you would swear he was the number 1 overall pick with all the hype he gets.

I'm guessing most of the 2nd half.

Romo plays 2 series, B Johnson plays about a quarter or so (they know what they have with him), and Bartel probably plays most of the rest of the game.

Well, let's see, (1) he was very productive in his final year in college (over 100 catches), (2) he's extremely quick (6.8 3-cone), (3) he came here and impressed in rookie mini-camps, and (4) carried on with impressive performances throughout training camp, receiving praise from coaches, media, and our very talented corners.

Really, what more could you ask for from an undrafted player up to this point?

Seems like optimism to me... not hype... but everyone see's things differently


It took Welker to go to a Pats system to really flourish.... so I think people are more excited about Danny being in an already potent offensive system than they are thinking he is "[strike]Bruce[/strike] Danny Almighty"

I said this before... if he makes the team and does nothing but MAKE defense's account for him then TO and Witten and Romo ALL WIN.

I think at this point, I'd suggest that more of this 'hype' is generated by those that 'dislike' him. Whole threads on this forum are hijacked by those oh-so witty Amendola > Chuck Norris jokes...or the equally witty HOF references.

Most of the people that like the kid are fairly level headed about it...while remaining optimistic.

Maybe because he caught over 1,000 yards as a senior, another player from his college and position with similar size, speed, quickness, hands also did so last year in the nfl as a slot receiver; Roger Staubach, Babe Laughenberg, Michael Irvin, the Cowboys coaches, Tony Romo, Terrell Owens, Kevin Burnett, Adam Jones all have spoken highly of him. Did I miss something?

Okay he had a very solid senior season....look at TT offensive scheme though they average like 60 throws per game...nothing against him of course...So he could be good in the slot I got that. He has been very impressive what I don't understand is why every other thread is about Danny Amendola why there's so many articles on him where he's the focus of Hard Knocks and why there's a thread trying to predict how many TD's he will score in 2nite preseason game. When A no other player is getting this much hype/attention and factor in that he is an UDFA it really don't make any sense....I've never seen this much hype for a player who is scrapping at the bottom of the roster for a spot on the depth chart.

There's another thread about Danny floating around..... Just because he wasn't shown a lot in episode one doesn't mean he's not going to be a main story.....D Ware about 30 maybe 40 can't get enough of the man (no homo) but honestly this guy is being hyped a lot.
