Civil debate is what messageboard banter is supposed to be all about. It's refreshing when someone like yourself feels strongly about their position on a subject but doesn't feel the need to go into attack mode when challenged with a differing opinion.

I take my hat off to you.

I and I salute you also. Maturity is a beautiful thing....

Danny White is a very interesting thought.

I have always liked the idea of former Dallas players coaching the team. Years ago I expected Dan Reeves to become our head coach, but he never got the chance. In retrospect I'm not sure he would have been right anyway.

I'm just not sure about Danny's personality and experience though. I don't necessarily think our new coach has to have head coaching experience in the NFL, but Danny has been away from the game a long time.

I know he had some success coaching in the arena league, but that isn't the same, and frankly I'm not sure if he is still doing that or something else.

It seems to me that he was an NFL assistant for awhile after he retired, but I really don't recall for sure, and even so, that was a long time back.

As for personality, some have suggested that White may not be strong enough to keep from being dominated by Jerry, and while I agree that's a question, it's not one we can answer either way at this point.

I'm all for giving Danny a look and strong consideration, but there are a lot of questions surrounding him at this point. Frankly he's been out of the limelight so long now I just haven't seen him or listened to him enough to have any concrete opinion about him.

Thanks for your two cents as you put it. I guess by living in Arizona for two years and seeing him work first hand I have a bit more favor for him. I just think for one it would be a great story and more importantly I think if he would be interested he deserves a look see...

I am surprised that Danny hasn't had any coaching opportunities in the NFL. His success in the arena league as coach and as a QB in the NFL hasn't opened up any doors.

He said in the "Danny White Answers Your Questions" thread that he has been approached by NFL teams but not the right ones. The opportunities presented didn't appeal to him. He said if the right team approached him he might make the jump.

I could just see us now, Danny opting for a two-point conversation in the first quarter and us yelling at the TV: "No Danny, No Danny, no!"

Oh, Parcells has already don that? Oh.

Hey Local Boy. So if he has been approached then the idea isn't too far fetched.

I would be thrilled if he was right for the job, and I suspect he could do well, I just haven't seen enough of him personally to feel comfortable giving a strong opinion.

He better not be too picky, he'll miss the boat. If he truly wants to be an NFL head coach he probably should have been working in the NFL all these years - it's not like he's a youngster that still has plenty of time to work through the ranks.

No.

On 2007

If Bill wants to stay for one more year.
Hire Jeff Fisher as Assistant Head Coach & Defense Coordinator. And Jerry Jones will qurantee him that he could be the next Dallas Cowboys Head Coach

Now GROZ gang will be all happy. I will be happy for that to happen.:laugh2:

That would definitely work as long a Fisher actually does leave Tennessee. Just discussing alternate plans. That would work also for Cowher.

Like who?

I've gotten some yeses and some nos. But for the nos, some gave no reasons why not. I understand the lack of NFL experience and I know the AFL is very different but who else is there? And his success in the AFL has to carry some weight. Just as much as a college coach. The Jerry thing might be an obstacle but I have no idea if they've ever met. But like I've said...who else is there?

they probably met when Jerry told him to take a walk right after he bought the team.

Never thought I'd get this much response. Thanks for the discussion/debate. Now I've got to make like a baby and head out.

Aloha all..
