Clearly i did, the interior was not the problem. The problem was Dallas had nothing coming off the edge playing the zone. Playing the man they played their butts off. I think thats more where Marinelli will going this yr. I understand Paea being on your mind. But playing the 1tech the guy will be a liability vs the run. If i want a 1tech in FA im going after Fairley or Chris Peters. Think Marinelli has plans for Bishop, Whaley and even Gardner on some downs inside. I just dont see how people want to make this big issue about the inside when 12.5 of Dallas 28 sacks came from the interior and 9 came from DEs.

The interior was much better then the edge rushers I absolutely agree. But we got absolutely zero pass rush from the 1 tech. And at times there was nothing come from interior. Did you watch the last few games of season and playoff game? Crawford had 1 or 2 good rushes a game, and that was it! No one else even sniffed the QB.

Need more from that if we want to be an elite defense. Rodgers sat back in there like he could have had a cup of coffee in playoff game. That was the game we needed something from interior of our defense and we got nothing! Mincey was only one rushing decent.

I don't think we're likely to see Peterson coming to Dallas. Other than that, I think your picks are fairly realistic.

Hey guys been working on the draft a lot these last couple weeks. Getting an idea of what we need, and what is available. This will be a mix of free agency and draft picks.

This offseason prediction is not only what I think we WILL do, but also what I think we SHOULD do. If we do or follow something close to this, I honestly think we can take that next step.

Re-Sign

Dez Bryant
Doug Free
Rolando McClain
Justin Durant
Dwayne Harris

Tender

Ron Leary
Cole Beasley
Chris Jones

Free Agent Signings

Adrien Peterson RB (I honestly don't believe his cost is going to be that much. 3 year 15 million dollar deal somewhere around there with 10 million guaranteed. I think he really wants to play for Cowboys)

Stephen Paea DT (1 tech only 26. Past experience with Marinelli. Big upgrade over Hayden. Can generate pass rush and play run. Extremely strong)

Brandon Graham DE (Playing out of position for Eagles. Would be ideal LDE in our system. Big upgrade from Spencer/Selvie combination. Has a knock for rushing the passer and is also only 26)

Draft

1st Rd: Nate Orchard DE - An ideal RDE who can compete with Lawrence for that starting spot in camp. Or Orchard can start at RDE and Lawrence LDE. Orchard has more quick twitch then Lawrence and can certainly rush the passer. Lawrence is stouter and stronger at the point of attack.

2nd Rd: Preston Smith Miss St - DE/DT - I LOVE this guy at 3 tech. He played all over the line at Miss St, but I feel his best position is at 3 tech. He could put on 10 lbs or so, but he would be an excellent rotational player with Crawford. They can both rush in nickel situations. He is an outstanding pass rusher.

3rd Rd: Josh Shaw USC CB

4th Rd: Austin Shepherd Alabama OT

5th Rd: Jalston Fowler Alabama FB

7th Rd: Tevin McDonald FS Eastern Washington

7th Rd: Jarvis Harrison OG Texas A&M

Have to say, I disagree with a lot of what you said. Just made a topic on why we shouldn't resign Doug Free, and definitely don't think we should re-sign Dwayne Harris.

We should sign rather than tender Leary while we can. He should be somewhat affordable now while he is overshadowed by those around him.

Beasley should be signed long term as well. Jones I agree with you on.

I agree with you on your free agent signings except I want JPP rather than Graham. Graham has never had double digit sacks before. That's not the guy we need. I mentioned Fairley, but I forgot about Paea, who I think would be much more affordable, so I disagree with myself there.

Can't disagree with OP too much.
However I wish people would stop with the Peterson stuff. He is not available yet, and probably won't be IMO.
But it is their choice to do so. If Murray is not signed, then I prefer to draft a QB.

I wouldn't mind if Carter was brought back either.
Draft seems very reasonable, but I haven't looked at it in too much depth yet. But also I'm not a draft guru so I like to see this kind of stuff to get a feel for what others think. But from what I seen so far, this is good.

Yes, he can't apply for reinstatement until April 15th unless the NFL changes their mind. Murray would be gone by then. They can't wait until April to decide on a RB unless they're prepared to just go with Randle/Williams and a draft pick.

They can't wait unless they have an understanding in place

The Cowboys can't contact him unless the Vikings cut him. He does not count against the Vikings cap while he is suspended so they don't have any incentive to cut him before his reinstatement unless the owner just wants to separate the team from the controversy.

Looks very reasonable; although, I'm not a big fan a Paea. I reviewed him the the Cowboys-Bears game and he was fairly easily pushed around.

Graham might be the most realistic option for a pass rusher. The Eagles might cut Trent Cole and offer to make Graham the starter; although, I read that he prefers a 4-3.

My top choice is Hardy if he is acquitted, but the price might be too high.

I need to review Austin Shepherd. I like the other drat picks.

I would sign Parnell over Free. Free had ankle surgeries in both Jan 2014 and Jan 2015. Parnell played well considering he had 1 career start prior to this season.

FWIW, Eagles fans were bullish on Graham given how effective he was in limited snaps. But when Cole got hurt, and Graham had to play a starter's role, his play dropped off at OLB. Eagles might have soured on him as a starting OLB.

Cole only missed 1 start.

I don't really know how good Graham really is. He is very quick be he's also short for a DE at 6'1-1/2". He did have 5.5 sacks as a backup this year and he has 17 sacks in his 5 year career. I think he would be a good player to have on the Cowboys team but I don't think he solve all of their pass rush issues.

Yep. AD at least has a framework for what Dallas would pay already. When Stephen Jones makes snide references to tampering (sarcastically, as if it's unheard of in this league) you know there's a lot more talking that goes on behind the scenes than is ever let on. On not sure how the tampering rules work, per sec, but you'd think an agent could get a frame of reference for what a team is thinking at RB for a young player and for a special veteran-type player without violating a tampering guideline, couldn't they? Wink-wink, nudge-nudge, some frames of reference are more accurate than others, don't you know? I think the restrictions apply to actual agreements, but don't extend to talking (probably fairly explicitly) about what a team might play for whatever level of talented player at whatever specific position.

I don't think we're looking to solve that particular problem with one player, anyway. Unless it's a guy like Hardy who's young and special and who might actually be available and (somewhat) reasonable to the team that takes the risk on his character issues. Otherwise, I think we're calling our shots, looking to upgrade a position or two in the rotation quietly, and then drafting DL to develop. Fans will be disappointed, but there's a lot of room to improve the DL, overall, that way.

The fact that agents represent other players makes it easy for team to talk to them in general terms. Stephen Jones to Peterson's agent "we're looking to pay X amount to quality RB if we don't re-sign Murray". Agent "I think the market will be Y amount for a top talent".

Yes, they need a DE or two, but if Hayden is a starting DT then something went horribly wrong.

what is the love for a older RB? why is it you guys persist we need someone who has a higher chance of standing on the sidelines than playing the games? Wow, so many fans love it when others give them an opinion.
