No, he isn't playing better. He's the same QB as he's always been. Doesn't matter if he has a top defense and top running game at the same time (which he has had). Dak cannot win 3 straight playoff games against top competition. He would have done it by now with all the opportunities he's already had.

I call bull.... He is in fact playing better. He carried a QBR of 70 for 12 consecutive weeks...finishing with a 70.3. He was number #1 and #2 for a long stretch of 2025. He would've finished #1 had he NOT had the league's worst defense. Does this mean he's suddenly a playoff God? Not even close, but don't make silly pronouncements based on your personal "eye test".

For every former cowboy that’s done better, there’s another that’s done worse. Someone out there could surely quantify the numbers.

Off the top of my head…did Zeke do better? How about Cooper Rush? Trey Lance? Dalton Schultz? Tyron Smith? Jourdan Lewis?

Did they get better when they left Dallas?

I wish Lawrence the best, but it’s by no means clear that players all flourish when they leave Dallas. It’s probably 50/50.

I wouldn't say definitively that Darnold is better or worse than Dak right now but Darnold did win 14 games with the Vikings last year and 14 games this year with the Seahawks. He's turned into a a pretty darn good one.

Trent Dilfer is better than Jim Kelly, Dan Marino, Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, Joe Burrows etc, because Trent Dilfer led his team to a Superbowl victory and those other quarterbacks haven't.

Kaepernick is also better that Lamar Jackson, Sam Darnold, Herbert, Lawrence, Josh Allen and a few other quarterbacks because he led his team to a Superbowl and those quarterbacks haven't.
