A field of 94 nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2017 was condensed to 26 candidates on Wednesday during NFL Network's Gold Jacket Semifinalists special.

The 26 semifinalists will be trimmed to 15 finalists in early January. The current group includes 15 offensive stars, eight defensive stalwarts, two coaches and one kicker.

Among the first-year eligibles, former San Diego Chargers running back (and current NFL Network analyst) LaDainian Tomlinson is the headliner.

Speaking of Cowboys greats, what's your opinion on Drew Pearson? Is he HOF worthy?
Drew Pearson was one of my all time favourite Cowboys, so l am highly in favour. He made some of the greatest catches in the long history of the Cowboys. He wasn't very big or fast or especially strong...but he always found a way to make the big catch. The Hail Mary is still one of my fondest Cowboy memories and l rewatch it often. The look on old Bud Grants face was priceless. Yes Drew belongs in the HoF.

Not me. At least not anymore. He's too far removed from the game and the grind. Give me Will McClay all day.

Maybe Jerry will concede his starting role to Will. Ha!
lol. I wouldn't hold my breath. Especially now...with the club so close to a SB. Jerry must be drooling for all the attention he will soon receive!

It's a travesty Drew Pearson isn't in the hall. Best big game clutch receiver I every saw. Made some of the most memorable catches in NFL history.

Coach Johnson should be in. From worst to first and building a dynasty. Speed defense, Big offense that grinded it out, great special teams. Beat great teams with HOFers....

Woody is my favorite. Great player from the time he started in the nickel. I think he is a HOFer but Ihe didn't get the pub like Lynch so it may be difficult.

TO deserves to be in, but unfortunately he gets punished for his behavior, hopefully gets in this time.

I don't know how Lynn Swann can be in the HOF, but not Drew Pearson.

I couldnt agree more with your post. Johnson and Woodson will get in at some point. TO can not be fairly denied even if he is not so popular. He will probably get in before the other. Yep, kills me that Drew has been overlooked. Not right.
