Daunting task opening week at Philly!

Are you trying to tell me you think the Philadelphia Eagles starters played because I don't even think there's backup quarterback that they just picked up played any preseason not with their team I don't remember Jalen Hurts AJ Brown Smith or Saquon starting a single snap in preseason but show me where I'm wrong..

I mean most teams don't play their starters so you're going to have a game one that possibly has some sloppiness in the first half... I saw a lot of college games they have no preseason and they definitely looked a little sloppy..

Takes a little while to pick up game speed the physicality and getting your full game breath you know in full shape to play sixty minutes at full speed..

And the ones that did play some snaps in the preseason I don't think 20 snaps in the preseason is getting you ready for a 60 minute full out war against starters not against backups but playing against the real people with schemes and game plans...

point is, both teams might struggle in that area....
One of those teams has a run game they can depend on.

It isnt the Cowboys.

Ring celebration will the Eagles all amped up to face they most hated rival. Cowboys will most likely be playing without Diggs, have Guyton returning from injury, throwing Clark out there on a short week will make this matchup very difficult. Not a no win situation, but one that is going to take a team effort.

Offense has to bring their A game to give the team a chance for success. Cowboy offense has been in bubble wrap, it is time to see what Schott/Adams has instore for this season.

Defensively it isn't so much about the yardage given up, I want to see this defense become better inside the red zone, where they were dead last in the league last season.
Sounds like Diggs is going to play he was a full go at practice yesterday and we will see today. A healthy Dak with CeeDee, Pickens, and company can take apart the Eagles young secondary if the offensive line holds up.

On defense the Cowboys defensive tackles will have a chance because the Eagles will be missing their guards from last season. Plus Dickerson has a bad knee and even if he plays he will be limited.

This is not last year’s end of the season Cowboys the Eagles beat up on twice and this is not the Super Bowl winning Eagles team that destroyed Chiefs. This game will be interesting to say the least.

Plus our offense is a little bit of a mystery right now.

If Special teams dominate we have a chance.
Turpin will have better chances at a KO return for a TD. Unless the defense keeps them from scoring too much. But still he may get several good opportunities.

I can already visualize Jerry selling all the “good things he saw” in a moral victory type of way.

So I expect Philly to come out strong, but for Dallas to hang with them, then blow it in the end.

Maybe even an Aubrey MFG at :00. This team is best at finding new heartbreaking ways to lose.

If we somehow keep Philly below 24, I think we will have chance.

Yeah but there's an old saying about Super Bowl hangovers sophomore slumps all these other things it's very difficult to repeat the targets on your back it actually the pressure is more trying to repeat at least that's what they say..
I agree teams measure themselves by how well they play against the better teams. Obviously the defending champs are a good team. In many ways the pressure is off after just winning the Super Bowl. The players know repeating is not likely unless they can remain committed to one another. If that coaching staff is for real Eagles will be tough.

I think the Eagles win 10 games and win the division this season. I wouldn’t bet even a dollar they repeat as champions. If they win this Thursday I bet the don’t cover.

Three-and-outs on offense would be the absolute worst thing for the Cowboys chances. Can't do that. Need excellent play-calling first and foremost.

Philly may take us too lightly.

They will be amped up over the SB celebration, and underestimate us.
Come on now... Philly would never take DAL likely. Too much rivalry for that. No matter what the occasion is, they gonna be up and ready to try and smash DAL any chance they get.

They lost 5 contributors on defense.

The Philadelphia Eagles experienced significant player losses after their 2024 Super Bowl win, particularly on defense, with key players like defensive linemen Milton Williams and Josh Sweat, and veteran cornerback Darius Slaydeparting in free agency. Other departures included safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who was traded, and cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, who left for another team.

Will he be on a snap count I mean how is that going to work? Do you really want him to be coming out of no preseason games, missing most of last 2 years, and then playing 50 to 60 snaps as a starter that's probably what they be defending...

I guess Matt will figure that out I would rather him air on the side of caution and try to use them at 50% unless they're desperate and nobody else is playing well let's see what some of these other corners can do with him coming in and out taking off a series here and there or enough plays to they can monitor any setbacks....

He would have played zero preseason games either way.

Very tough match up at any time of the year. They have a super talented team. I'd say it's either them or Baltimore for most loaded lineup in the League.

Long season. As @Bobhaze (Bullet) posted previously, we all need to keep in mind that this is 1/17th of the season.

I would rather have Diggs and Elam on the outside with Bland on the inside than whoever we have as a 4th corner currently. Diggs has been practicing for a few weeks. He should be fine.

He has but mostly on the side so the jogging the three quarters stuff just going through the paces is not a real game Those real game twitchiness going full speed cut turn cut turn back the other way backpedal into a full spin into a 100% race towards the end zone those things are not something he's done a lot of the last two years and he's gotten hurt at it...

I'm wondering if a snap count is warranted I mean they do this in baseball you you can go through your double A and get reinstated back to the major team but then they still put you on a pitch count or on a hit count and they literally ease guys back in coming off injuries And I know he's being cleared but we just went through this now two years in a row do we want to make it 3 where he gets injured?

We can call it PTSD or whatever you want to call it because we've seen it but now with Overshown and Diggs you lose guys like him it can really hurt your defense and now we're without Parsons against the Eagles game on on the road on grass I mean,I guess being on grass is a bonus, but II still it makes me worry man ,that's all I was a it was a question...
