“I did it all in fun and I’ve done it before with other teams in the spirit of the rivalry,” Spadaro said tonight.

If I'm his boss, I would have a hard time not firing him. This was a very stupid thing to respond with IMO

I find it very interesting that DC got him on the phone and he coward in the corner like a scared kid. Then when he is on with the rest of the big mouth blowhards on wip he was acting apparently like this is a regular thing.

He deserves national humiliation. Reading some stuff about him it appears he has had a few spats with dopey florio at pft, so I bet florio really goes after him and alot of people read that.

I am going to record newy scruggs tonight at 10, I bet he does something on it.

Firing is too good for him: a blanket party could be in order though.......

The team already responded and said nothing would happen to him and his credentials would not be revoked.

When a highly visible employee that represents your organization publicly embarrasses the company and risks its credibility, action must be taken to publicly distance itself with the employees bad judgment.

When no disciplinary action is taken, only one conclusion can be made. This kind of behavior is an acceptable and possibly encouraged practice. We have to assume that this level of professionalism is to be expected during future encounters with this organization.

With that being said, since nothing is happening about this, Andy Reid and the owner are guilty of spitting on the star too.

The best part is where he said " I meant no disrespect" I know in my household
and in the household I grew up in, spitting was about the most disrespectful thing you could do. Then to brag that I've done it before?

Yeah, he needs to be unemployed. Maybe THAT will teach his kids what is respectful and what isn't. He certainly doesn't know.

Can you post what you record please?

If this was any other team, I would say the guy will be unemployed tommorow. However, this is the Eagles so nothing will surprise me. They will probably give him a promotion or something.

Remember, The eagles are the team that used to go to the 50 and jump up and down as a team on the other teams emblem.

After the fights that broke out against the falcons in the opener in 05 the league banned it.

Reid is not the classy uppity moral guy he is made out to be. He has stood by and endorsed lots of classless stuff his organization has done since he has been there.

If Boys win and the feeling is there, we should shower him with e-mails thanking him for helping to end his team and employer's season.

You bring up some very interesting points and I am inclined to agree with the other posters who say that if a Cowboys employee had done this, we would see a much different outcome.

I have always said that the Philly fans do not represent the Eagles organization when it comes to class and professionalism but it appears I am very wrong about that.

-----------------------------

After seeing this video of Spadaro spitting on the star I got in touch with him. I let him know on a 15 minute phone call that I thought he was completely out of line. I told him that he knew he was taking it too far and of course he now agreed that he did go too far.

"I was asked to do it by the fans, so I did it", said Spadaro. Which begs the question as to what else he would do if the fans asked.

"I am sorry for doing it and I promise I would never spit on the star ever again. I was just trying to have fun, but I understand it went too far."

When I was talking to Dave I asked him if I was the first person to contact him about this incident from the 'enemy side' and he said yes. He informed me the video would be coming down ASAP and even in a roundabout way asked me not to write about the video because he knew it could only mean trouble for him.

I am not the first to write about this video. The link to the original video has been on some message boards for hours now. The Dallas Morning News wrote about this issue on their blog. And I hear it's being discussed on some local radio stations in the Dallas area.

Dave being an internet coordinator he should know that in today's world anything that goes online is spread around within minutes, if not seconds.

The most interesting thing about all of this to me is that I told Dave that he should just own this because it's the Philly way. You know, they're all tough guys in Philly and that includes the Eagles and their fans.

Dave wanted on part of owning any of his actions in the video. He sounded as if he was genuinely sorry for doing it and I do believe he was very sorry it was now going to be a national story. All that bravado Dave had in the video was long gone. Sort of like the confidence the Eagles had when they walked into that stadium four hours after Dave spit on the star.

Now again. Dave was real sorry for doing this and he made that abundantly
clear throughout the conversation.

But just watch the video. You spit on the star Dave. You spit on the star. You didn't stomp on it or run around on it, you spit on it!

I don't think any of the employees of the Dallas Cowboys would head into Financial Field and spit on the Eagles logo as they looked around to make sure and not get caught doing it.

Let me close with this. It's not the end of the world and Dave should not be fired. He screwed up. We all do it. Yeah, maybe his bosses give him hell for it and ask him 10-15 times why he would think that would be ok to place on the teams website. But don't fire the guy.

Maybe, just maybe it's these kinds of things that keep the Eagles from actually winning of importance. The football God are always in play and this will be just another reason for them to help the Cowboys beat down the Eagles on Saturday.

Great job

Yeah he was. He knew a **** storm was brewing.

He kept trying to tell me the video was being taken down like that would satisfy me. I told him that I had already captured it and I was sure others would have already done so too.

At that point he really started in with the backtracking.

The horse is out the barn. It is a shame that nothing associated with Philly surprises me.

Great job DC with calling him. You should post his number and email address.

An Open Letter Of Apology To The Cowboys

As you may have seen, I went too far with my Spudcam video prior to Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Acting alone, and without permission from the Eagles organization, I walked out to the middle of the field at Cowboys Stadium and spit on the Cowboys star, and for that I deeply apologize to the outstanding Cowboys organization and the fine people there, from Jerry Jones to the rest of the team.

It was not my intention to insult the Cowboys. It was my intention to enjoy the spirit of a great sports rivalry, and I clearly went over the line and acted unprofessionally. The Cowboys have always been gracious hosts and I appreciate the relationship I have with the friends I have there.

Spudcam is a feature that has become very popular here, and the goal of Spudcam is to provide a unique perspective of the game-day experience. We here at PhiladelphiaEagles.com strive to do anything and everything to bring our fans as close as possible to the action, to enjoy the team they love on an every-day basis. I try to have fun with Spudcam and to put the camera in places that cameras normally don't go.

I took it to the extreme here, and admit that I have done so in other situations this year. Again, it is all done in the spirit of pre-game fun, to get excited about the game, to show the fans at Lincoln Financial Field and those on the road what happens behind the scenes on game days.

I admit I get carried away with my love of the Philadelphia Eagles, and if this is a crime, I am clearly guilty. Game days are an incredible experience for me. The will to win is unlike anything I have ever felt. The angst and the tightly-knotted stomach and the ups and downs of 60 minutes of Eagles football leave me thoroughly drained -- win or lose -- and I enjoy having the opportunity to communicate that to the many great Eagles fans who follow this team on a (many-times) daily basis.

I appreciate the support of the Eagles organization as we take this web site to new levels. I have made many mistakes in my excitement over the years communicating my love of the Eagles to you, and the franchise has always backed me. There are times when my enthusiasm has to be reined in by many within the Eagles, who have always made sure to let me know when I've exceeded the boundaries of professionalism.

Again, I apologize to those whom I have offended by my actions with Spudcam. I acted in an unprofessional manner and I am deserving of the punishment coming my way, and of the scorn of Dallas fans and those who did not appreciate my actions. I am responsible for my work and I will stand up to the criticism.

For those Eagles fans who come here so often and who make this web site so successful, I thank you for your love of the Eagles. I appreciate the opportunity to communicate so frequently with Eagles fans, who want the same thing as I: To beat Dallas on Saturday night and to stay alive in this 2009 season.

There's no need for the Cowboys or their fans to respond to this scumbag's spitting with anything like Spadaro's classlessness. Good thing the guy made sure no one saw him spitting on the star, twice, while his own video camera was going. Genius.

There's a reason the Eagles have never won anything. This is why I despise the Eagles twice as much as our other NFC East rivals.

The team is united, at last. The fans are united. The Eagles are not.

We win Saturday, no question.
