David Irving failed a drug test and is now facing a suspension

Total BS. We saw this with Lane Johnson last year. He also tried to argue it was accidental and what he took was not on the "app" provided to players as a guide. The NFL clearly stated that app is just a guide and that anything you put in your body should be run through the team doctor/trainer/nutritionist.

So he's pretty much guaranteed gone for 4 games. Unbelievable.

Unlisted ingredients is a problem.

Players still have a responsibility of what they put in their system. They can have these supplements checked out before taking them. They know this. I'm not saying this makes him a bad guy but players need to be held responsible for what they do

agreed and now Dallas must live with this uncertainty for 3 defensive players: Gregory, Tank & Irving. I wouldn't extend any of them. Garrett has placed emphasis on keeping players who can stay on field after Gregory debacle.

It definitely muddies the water.

I do think there are guys out there who just make stupid decisions to take a supplement they haven't sent in to the team to evaluate. Those guys are a liability, but that stuff is going to happen with young players. Or guys like Scandrick who take recreational drugs out of ignorance and get dinged. Maybe you don't want those guys on the roster either (I'd get that), but it's a different category of problem from the guys who have severe medical issues or are just are trying to cheat the system or who are habitual users of banned recreational substances.

But, yeah, how do you extend a key pass rush player once he gets a ding like this? Now the team has to protect itself, and that leaves them open to a guy getting scooped by a more desperate team who's willing to take a chance on it being a one-off problem. Sucks.

I agree entirely.

People on here acting like Irving is some cheater without knowing any of the details bewilders me. It very could be a honest mistake which is more justifiable than someone smoking a joint knowing a failed drug test would let down their team and an entire city.

Regardless, as you stated...this is still Irving's responsibility. He is still young. If it happens again, I'll question his ethics a lot more.

Also, I think its worth noting when player starts posting pics on social media on how "ripped" they are in a contract year....it generates a targeted test by league (even if league would never admit it wasn't random test).

Please Taco, make me forget about this fool, Irving. http://www.BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1.com/forums/images/smilies/smibang.gif

I was merely stating a fact for those unaware that the supplement industry is completely unregulated, and the only way to know for sure what's in them is to have them sent to a lab for testing.

Hopefully Taco can pass drug test. Tapper and Taco starters? Mayowa and Crawford/Moore back ups?

We need DE like we did corners in next draft

I go to the gym for a few hours and I see this crap. Can we catch a break with someone on defense NOT getting suspended ? Irving promoted a company supplements. He should have looked into what was banned and not. This is not good for us.
