Talent or not. He needs to be gone. Ya got players like Martin, fighting to get back on the field. Along with the Su'a-Filo possibly playing with one eye. And this jerk can't make a meeting?

CUT HIM. Today, not tomorrow, TODAY.. Right as I am typing this.

Stay the course. It's on David whether he wants to help the Hot Boyz make this playoff run. Zero upside in releasing Dave, just play this out then choose not to resign him.

Football isn't life or important in the grand scheme of things, so I hope Dave enjoys his life.

Umm, for him, so far, yeah it is. It puts money in the account , food on the table, lights on, etc.. Unless he has some other form of income coming in, which he may. It is a very important thing in the grand scheme.

I don't love my job. Yet, I still know how important it is. And, that I actually have to be there.

Agreed. David Irving has enough money to hold him over until he figures out his next move financially tho. And just like you he'll be able to provide w/o football.

I forgot he was even on the team. Rod Smith and Jamize Olawale have more tackles than him this year. He crosses my mind just about as much as Terrance Williams these days. I would rather concern myself with players that are busting their rears to make this team better.

Ya think so? Hmmm.. With all the hassles he has been going through, I highly doubt it isn't long before he's flippin burgers somewhere.

This is Purple Drank all over again.

Another fool who's pissing away the opportunity he's been given and wasting away his abilities.

Just like Rolando McClain.

McClain could have been a perennial Pro Bowler and he threw it all away too, and fell into irrelevance, and likely jail at some point.

The Cowboys did nothing with McClain and simply allowed the entire situation to fade away...

Irving is going down that same road.

It's both frustrating and sad to see.

David Irving's work ethic and love for the game is second to none. Can't get him off the practice field. How the hell are we going to be able to pay both him and Tank?

yes I have,
none of us have talked to him...lol We are just assuming

There's nothing to "talk" about. The guy doesn't show up for work. Nobody cares what he has to say after the fact. Guys get "injured" in football all the time, what they don't do is abandon their job and not show up at all. Normal players come in for rehab, attend meeting, Andy stand on the sidelines for games. See Travis Frederick for what a professional football player does.

You're trying to defend an idiot and looking bad in the process.

Best Defense we have had in years andnhe don’t want to be a part of it? A great chance for him to show out and get a contract. Not now.

One of the truly sad aspects of the David Irving situation is the way it is being played out in the media and with fans.

Can you imagine your personal issues splashed about publicly and in your work place. I can't. Admittedly, some of his issues are self-inflicted. Still, not a great feeling or look to have your personal issues and problem displayed publicly.
Then quit football if you don't want your problems splashed around in public.

Like it or not, that's the nature of the business, especially in the social media age where everything is thrown out in public.

He's the one who instagramed a picture of himself in bed with 2 women last February. Nobody else did it. So he has no argument about his troubles being laid out in public.

Exactly right, but some fools aren't smart enough to see the big picture of the effect their actions can have. Not until it's too late and nobody cares anymore. Then they cry about it and all the regrets that they have.

Too many excuses with this guy as for why he doesn't play (suspensions, injuries, personal issues). Time to cut ties. It's too bad, because he has twice the potential of Tyrone Crawford, but no where near Ty's work ethic.

I understand the frustration from many, and can't blame them. But what gets me is why do so many want him gone NOW.
It does nothing to release him now. IR him, use the roster spot for a player that wants to play. Possibly Goodwin for the playoffs, if we get there. Activate him from IR and put Irving on it.

Just let it play out, let him test FA market, maybe we get a 7th round comp pick. It is better than nothing.
Why can't many see this as the best solution.
Instead of letting their "dislike" emotion take over. Think comp pick instead. :D

Time to move on, yes, but try to see if it turns into a comp pick.
