I keep forgetting he is on the team and am only reminded he is when there is another story about him missing time

as I have said in other threads, he is dead to me....I would NOT cut him yet because you just know that he would finally be motivated and use the "cutting" as the thing to get him to play, and he signs with one of our opponents just to screw with us.....so, once dallas is done (around 10:30p on Feb 3rd), cut him immediately

If Dallas can get anything out of him for this season great, after the season just release him. This team needs to get rid of these distractive players who are constantly getting suspended. Irving misses 4 games each of the past 2 seasons, then he misses with injury he is barley a part of this team.

I really wanted Irving on this team at the end of last season. Though I wasn't happy about it, I could deal with the suspension. But then he missed basically all of the off-season activities including training camp, has practiced maybe a few times since his suspension ended, played a couple snaps, got hurt and has barely been seen around the facility since. It's hard because he's very talented and is a difference maker when he is on the field, but he hasn't been on the field.

I would still make him an offer though. It'd be a very small contract initially with incentives tied to it. Maybe give him an out after the year is over or something like that. If he doesn't want to sign it and some other team offers him something, then let him walk. It's not like we are missing out on anything with him not playing.

I get what your saying but this team really has to change the culture around here. I remember when Jimmy came to Dallas, Irvin said he gave Jimmy a list of names of players who were here for a paycheck and needed to go. I want players who are 100% committed to this team and to winning and if you are not then you need to go. There is part of me who commends Jerry for giving a guy a 2nd chance but once that players blows that chance and then chooses not to show up for workouts, OTA and other team activities it shows me that player is not committed to this team and the success of the team. He is only here for a paycheck and he needs to go.

That's not what he want. What he want is to continue stringing the team along and picking up checks.

    Why?
Why cut a guy who is under contract cheap. Irving May never play again but one thing no one can deny is he has super talent. If you can fix him you have a great player. If not maybe you atleast give him an opportunity to fix his life
    He’s no different than Gregory
Gregory could fall off the wagon tomorrow or he may turn into a great player. But at the very least once you’ve taken a guy like this, knowing you had to fix them before you get anything out of them, you want to give every effort to do so

Dude has mental issues beyond what this team can help him with. He's basically Rolando McClain with less overall production and he maybe signed for cheap, but if he's getting free money to just jerk the team around, then cut him under the behavior detrimental to the team clause and let him be someone else's headache. Even if he balls out somewhere else, it doesn't matter because he dang sure doesn't care to do that here.

The sad thing is. He could have given us an elite pass rush. If we just get him to give us 10 plays in the Wild card game. I am still holding out hope.

He is also a distraction to this team, he can't be counted on and is no more than a guy looking for a paycheck, he does not give a rats backside about this team or the success of the team. He needs to go, I'm tired of losers like this on the team. Yes he has talent but his talent means nothing if he is not playing. To me if people want to see a change in culture around here you do it by ditching guys who are only interested in a pay day.

Speaking of Gregory. Now that Bryant and Gordon are back on the suspended list, you gotta wonder about how long he will last.

Well...where are all the Irving fan boys? Been saying flush this doped up turd since last season. It's now past time, pull the handle and dump the turd.

He is past that small injury. Dude is a crap stain another of jerry's boys who can't get it together, a loser in so many words. Either can't play due to suspension, or hurt, or personal issues or a fairy farted in his coffee, or..........

One of the truly sad aspects of the David Irving situation is the way it is being played out in the media and with fans.

Can you imagine your personal issues splashed about publicly and in your work place. I can't. Admittedly, some of his issues are self-inflicted. Still, not a great feeling or look to have your personal issues and problem displayed publicly.

    Irving won't play.

If he's not back by now they aren't going to take someones spot away for Irving.

Stay the course. It's on David whether he wants to help the Hot Boyz make this playoff run. Zero upside in releasing Dave, just play this out then choose not to resign him.

Football isn't life or important in the grand scheme of things, so I hope Dave enjoys his life.
