I cannot imagine how Marinelli reacted when he heard. It seems the poor guy cannot start a season without one of his starters out on a D that has not been very good with all of them in.

And welcome Richard, he wants to play press coverage with his CB's and will now be missing the 2nd best pass rusher. This could be an ugly start of the season.

The D-line didn't do too bad the first 4 games of last year without Irving. Datone Jones and Jihad Ward are huge upgrades over Paea as guys stepping in. Ward is almost a clone of Irving body wise and in terms of what they do well. If Ward produces while Irving is back and if Irving can't convince the team to trust him by the end of the season then I can easily see them cutting him and moving on with Ward. He is a natural 3-tech who shined under Marinelli before, he'll be a more than capable replacement.

Also, the cornerback play will be impressive this season and the Panthers WR's on opening night don't scare me at all. We'll be good without Irving, with the chance to be elite when he comes back and we play at full strenght.

We dont know what drugs he was suspended for - the league cant say. All athletes caught give either the recreational or mistaken suppliment excuse.

The point is, it's against the rules. They know it's against the rules. They do it anyway. It's against league policy but they keep drafting players who don't care and do them. I wish they'd stop drafting those short-sighted idiots.

We never dumped him because it would cost us too much money after jerry gave him that awful extension. Those other guys are the same, just guys. Selvie and mcclain were just as good as DT's. Collins is a better 3t than crawford easily. and mayowa, tapper if healthy just as good at end. Hardy was a beast just couldn't get it together.

If I were HC, I would not play Irving for 6 maybe even 8 games. I would make him practice those 2-4 games without playing as punishment for what he did. It would also force him to either want to play real bad or regress to who cares. If the later, I would then cut him. If the former, it could be just what the kid needs to light a fire under his ***.
