Same here. Never used poor as an excuse. But I was smart in school and good in sports which I felt lucky. Playing with these same people they never seem to get it. -may be rusty
-may have gotten out of shape
-may get a nagging injury when he comes back
-may take a few weeks to get going
-may not have prepared properly in training camp knowing he wont be playing
-may get suspended again while out doing nothing

A guy rarely comes back from suspension and jumps right back in at a high level. Takes a special kind of player. And Irvin isnt that.
