They couldn't control the weather and they couldn't control a guy slamming into an track dryer. But man, you are right, it's been a weird Speedweeks.

The racing sucks. This isn't real racing. This is drive along in a pack and hope you have help when you try to make a move.

I prefer it when the quality of your own car and your ability to drive it determines the finishing order.

It still doesn't make sense to me. As much as I think Jr. is a completely overrated driver, he's won 18 cup races over his career. Danica has won once at a top level.

Simply put, I've never seen a driver attract this much attention and have this much opportunity with so little success. I'm guessing that's because she's female.

I was talking about her open wheel career. That's how she got to Cup. By being a completely mediocre open wheel driver.

Anybody else with that resume doesn't sniff a Cup ride.

I didn't like pack racing long before I hated tandem racing.

I agree with Dale Earnhardt Sr. Plate racing sucks. Take the plates off or don't schedule the track anymore.

No one is saying she is challenging king Richard for greatness. But she certainly has fans and she is, at least at this point, a novelty and fans are interested so they will feature her. She was one of the top stories coming into Daytona week.

Most race fans I talk to cannot stand hearing about her, as is evidenced by what is posted here. She is a media darling and a novelty, but she is the Tim Tebow of NASCAR. Over talked about, over scrutinized, and completely unproven. How many drivers are going to beat her today that many fans don't even know the names of?

Jimmy said he thought it was a good idea. DW said he had never seen it in cup. and when she was interviewed the reporter asked where she learned that.

On a side note, Pocono is my "home" track. Went there for over twenty years fighting the lousy entrance that Matioli didn't want to spend the money to widen. Then I found the back way out behind the tunnel turn. :laugh2:

You didn't understand me. When he said he never saw that before, he was referring to a driver letting go of the wheel and protecting their head before impact.

Danica did that because that's what you do in open wheel racing. It was force of habit. She hasn't opened the eyes of the entire Cup series that holding on to the wheel on impact might be a bad idea.
