DC: Cowboys Expect Charles Tapper To Be Healthy & Available For 2017

Agreed but we need to look at acquisitions this off season as if tapper and D Law are not on the team

We can't be beholden to constantly injured players next season

I think Tapper is the safer play at this point.

If it weren't for Collins, he could have played at the end of this season.

I don't think Collins was ever activated either, but it's possible that he was the one they had to designate by a certain point, not sure how that works exactly?

Chasing Amari Cooper down like he did is impressive for a big guy.

Every time I hear Tapper I think of Julius Jones.

what I see in the footage is a guy who not only uses speed but has a very good spin move as well as bull rushing and gets off blocks, he does not just stand there hand fighting with the OT

I don't understand the excitement around this guy at all. Sure, it'd be nice to have him, but he's shown absolutely nothing to date and was a 4th round pick.

Yeah just a 4th rd pick those guys never pan out. lol You are right he has done nothing as of yet.

Just a note...only 6 DE's out of 32 teams reached double digit sacks this past season. The NFL leader was Danielle Hunter of Minnesota with 12.5. Ten linebackers reached the mark, so only 16 total defenders hit ten sacks. It's not really that easy.

20 players in 2012, 24 players in 2013 got 10+ sacks, 2014 18 guys got 10+ sacks
So I agree it isnt that easy.

About 50-55% of the league has a 10 sack guy. The really good teams have a 10 sack dude, plus a side kick who throws in a lil sumptin

You guys are a bunch of Debbie Downers, he was cleared by Doctors and we should root for him, if he pans out that would be a real bonus for us

Problem is we dont know how long he can play it how well?

Can't count on a guy like that at a critical position

At this point he had to be considered a non factor when it comes to personnel planning at DE

No, but I still don't understand the hype.

I get the hype around Jaylon despite never playing a down. I'm just not sure I understand it with this guy.
He was a good player from a big-time college program. No reason not to be at least hopeful about him other than his injury issues.

The only reservation I have about him is he isn't the quickest of DL.The scouting on him mostly said he plays too high. As someone said above, he has a good bull rush.

He's likely not a big difference maker, but he might make enough plays to get in the rotation.

I don't really know his health status but if he stays healthy he's going to be pretty good. Is he going to be Demarcus Ware? No. And no one should be realistically expecting that.

I think he's going to be a nice surprise though. If he stays healthy he'll be an important piece on this line.

Sparq guy they had playing out of position at OU, so hes pretty raw. If he can improve his technique he'll be much better in the NFL than college.

*if* hes healthy
