This is media hype at its best and a bold face lie.

We already know a few things right out the gate.

1) the 2017 Oline is not the 16 Oline. We have issues on the line and 2 coaches who are ok with it. Instead of looking for solutions they are hoping the band aid falls in their lap. Huge mistake.

2) you have an issue with your Rb thats not being handled well on both sides.

3) inactives, why did we carry 3 RBs and a FB if they arent going to be used or used correctly.

4) Jeff Heath is not good, suck it Jeff Heath fans. He is very good in a limited role, hes not good at starter role. The end.

5) Your defense sucks, play the rookies, shake Rods hand and tell him best of luck at the end of the season. Nothing more you are getting out of him and i doubt he ll take the DL job and before anyone says Eflerbus or whatever, NO, just no. technically we should leave it to the new HC, but thats not happening. Go out of organization and get a DC.

6) Carrying 3 QBS, waste of roster spot. cut Kellen Moore, play Cooper if Dak goes down. End of Dak, end of season. doesnt matter anyway, again JC is just showing us he cant do the job if you need a reminder of this, see the Rams.

7) Byron Jones, find a new spot for him or put him in limited roles. Suck it Byron fans, hes not great at a safety starter level.

8) Jason Garrett, Jag coach, want to argue it, post his HC record. Suck it, the argument is over.

8 things off the top of my head, making this writer a pom pom writer for his own articles and offering nothing, not even something as basic as "breathing is important" or "water is wet" i would have more respect if he just wrote that and submitted it.

1) I am patient with the OLine...they played together for a while before being 2016 successful...insert two new cogs, who aren't that bad, and they will look better with more time together
2) agreed
3) they should use Morris more just to hopefully light a fire under our "star" RB
4) I like Heath, was willing to give him his shot, time to let Woods take his lumps and learn; let Jeff go back to partial play and special teams guy
5) Yes, yes, yes...rookies, all of them...but, I mentioned this in another thread...the D that played last week (starters) were different from last year by 8 players
6) My God, why is Moore there...ok to move him to the coaching side of things
7) I think BJones has been put in a spot that is not ideal for anyone - Marinelli can't scheme any more (it isn't 1982)
8) There is no possible way I can improve upon this....I am tired of saying "good guy"....couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag

I will add these two (I like "10's)

9) we are 2-2, there are NO 4-0 teams in the NFC
10) I have thought that Dallas was going to win all of the first 4 games...I am not feeling that this week...if they lose, there couldn't be a more perfect time with the bye coming right after...soul-searching, team leaders coming forward, rally the troops for the 2nd season (SF is week 6 and THAT can't be a bad thing)

Not quite 13-3 but I did see 12-4 coming

And Dak pretty much solidified himself in the Cincinnati game.

I still believe in the talent on the roster

I still got them between 11-5 and 12-4, which is what I had them finishing at in June. Got greedy with the 14-2.

I believe 10-6 gets this division.

12-4 was impressive, then. I never get too much into predicting W/L records because so much changes with all the teams each season these days, but I conservatively think a good team is 10-6/11-5. That's where I expect this team to end up.

We all went back and forth on Dak/Romo early last year. I know for my part, I thought Romo would be back during the bye week after the PHI game. But, either way, that CIN game was in week 5. The four game win-streak helped, though. This year has been tough because it's been win-one, lose-one.

I like our talent, too. Whatever it is going on with the OL needs to solidify. And the S and LBs need to get better, but at least we've got players coming back or ready to step up for that to happen. The Rams game didn't really surprise me. I kind of felt that one coming. But losing the GB here before the bye is going to make for a lot of complaining the next two weeks. I think we'll beat GB, though. Rodgers is an animal, but the rest of that team isn't all that impressive. We're at home, and we owe them a little payback.

I don’t think we’re much different from other team’s fans...

Oh, our fans are pretty different. For one, we have a huge bandwagon that comes with the exposure we get. Our core of knowledgeable fans is probably bigger, too, but there are just so many fair weather bandwagon fans.

The other thing is that the media constantly stokes the 'Cowboys are contenders/Cowboys are overrated' stories. Because they get attention from people on both sides of the fence. And there's more coverage of us than there are of other teams, so the competition for stupid sensational stories is more fierce.

Then there's Jerry Jones, who's constantly riling fans up saying stupid things, controversial things, undermining his staff, currying favor with his players, and also sometimes being the occasional badass.

Finally, you get the deep-playoff-run draught, so you have a big group of fans who really don't know very much who are constantly under attack by media stories and who have to answer to a mob of fans of opposing teams who hate the Cowboys and mock us for our owner and our stadium, and our recent playoff record and whatever else they can get their hands on. That group can't take the heat well, because they don't know enough to shut it up, and they turn on the team and start either sucking up to fans of other teams, or start in with the self-deprecation, or--my least favorite--get demanding as if a championship is their privilege and start telling everybody how high their standards are and that they just won't accept anything less than consistent Superbowls.

In short, they're one of the worst fan bases in the league.

At the same time, there's also a huge number (but smaller in proportion) of really great, smart, Texas-high school football-bred fans who just love the team, understand the game, criticize it fairly, and still manage to support it. That subset is a really great group, and it's a pretty big subset. So it's not all bad. It comes with the dinner when you're America's Team, I think.

At this time last year, the OL wasn't playing great, Elliott had gotten firmly on track after causing a few questions early, our defense was a mirage that wouldn't hold up, Dak was keeping the seat warm for Tony, Jason Garrett was a JAG coach because of his record, despite his record on the way to CotY, and nobody in their wildest dreams saw 13-3 coming yet.

And we were one game ahead of this year's 2-2.

It's a long season. There's a lot of football yet to be played. I'm in no rush for it to be over. Why are some of you in a rush for it to be over?

Agreed.

I think this is a different team come week 10.

Anyone bailing on a team that is 0.500 4 games into the season is an idiot.

lol and some people are looking at the history of an average coach, major changes to a defense, a hurt OL, a bad ST squad and saying while thrusting their hips to the air "Cowboys going to make some noise this year" and the rest of the league politely yawns and ignores them while another team takes the honors.

13-3, home field advantage, coach of the year, first game of the playoffs for them, and a big fat nothing. but come on guys another year of being impressed with "ho hum"

again, i ll let the season and the teams history do my talking.

some fans are so thrilled we are "next years champs"

I personally don't make knee jerk judgements like this after just 4 games. Need to see more.

Based on the overall size of our fan base -compared to other teams - we do cover the gamut of fan knowledge. Or lack there of.

I believe all teams have their share of die-hard and fair weather fans. As well as the casual ones. But I do agree our exposure raises this to another level. What kills me are the “haters” out there who don’t realize (as far as the team itself goes), that we have been rendered irrelevant for the better part of the last quarter century. We are really no better than the Lions, Browns, Commanders and Bills.

A deep playoff run would level the playing field in relation to the fan base. As John Facenda said it best many years ago - no more sunshine hero’s...
