TO before Darren Woodson tells you all you need to know about the hypocritical NFL. If he advanced and Darren didn't, they shouldn't have fined TO for any of his shenanigans.

Say what?
With all due respect, TO should go in before Darren Woodson. The legend of Woodson has grown since he retired. I wouldn't be upset in any way if he gets in the Hall of Fame, but I doubt the league and HOF committee see Woody as Cowboys fans see him. He was a consistently solid player when he was in the league, but he was not considered among the top or even the elite safeties of his era. And when you speak of Hall of Fame players, you generally compare them to their contemporaries. Then you have to consider the Cowboys team and the players already in the Hall of Fame (Emmitt, Troy, Irvin, Haley, Larry Allen).
However, having said all that, I think Woodson will get in, just not this time. His "good guy" persona will help him just as TO's "trouble maker" persona will keep him out a little while longer.
But between the two (TO vs. Woodson), TO gets in first - hands down!

I know some people have some personal hatred for TO. Whatever but the dude is a HOF WR period. There is no debate about this. His numbers, he was the number 1 and at worst number 2 WR in the league for almost a decade. He belongs in the HOF no question about it.

Woody's problem is he doesn't have the Pro Bowls/All Pros/All Decades that safeties like Lynch, Atwater, Dawkins, Easley have. We all love Woody but he isn't and shouldn't get in above those guys.

The person I have a problem with not getting in or at least a finalist is Jimmy. I don't care about his longevity. He rejuvenated and rebuilt a franchise in a 4 year span and turned it into a dynasty. Jimmy should at least be a finalist.

I'd rather have Jimmy and Woodson in the final 15. T.O. Should have made it last year.

The only way Jimmy Johnson should ever get in the HOF is with a ticket. He doesn't deserve to be in the HOF or even considered really. He was a good coach.. but not a great coach.

How Tim McDonald is in and Darren Woodson isn't amazes me. Tim was always the second best safety in the league behind Woodson.

It's funny.

I remember when Woody retired... he said I want to talk you about the Dallas Cowboys (teams) not about the Super Bowls. You know all about that. I want to talk about the guys I played with... etc...

If there was a place ABOVE the HOF... he would be there.

Without jimmys very significant role in the 90s... we probably don't get one SB win. Probably make it and lose.

People so easy to go back in time and dismiss.
He built the Cowboy dynasty of the 90's. I just don't get some people. If Tony Dungy is in the HOF than Jimmy deserves to be in.

Says it all about jimmy = Talk the talk, walk the walk

There is a clear case of Dungy NOT having the right stuff to be a head coach. Def coord yes.

Peyton lucked him a super bowl by playing the bears!

Tim McDonald isn't in the HOF, and never will be. He was one of the more overrated players that I can recall.

And, unfortunately, Woodson likely will never make it either. The thing that will kill his chances is his omission from the 1990s All Decade team at safety. The idiots who voted for that put in Ronnie Lott over him, and Lott only played through 1994. He was also washed up by then.

I remember the good old days on CowboysZone, when I constantly said I thought the Board of Selectors would prevent Terrell Owens from becoming a first-ballot inductee based on his unending 10-cent head nonsense. People said I would be proven wrong. Now I just look back and chuckle to myself.

In the end, people are people. Always have been. Always will be.

Jimmy did more than the vast majority of coaches or GMs have ever done. He took a team completely depleted of talent and won 2 Super Bowls with 5 years and his players went on to win another while Jimmy's replacement ate hot dogs on the sidelines. He won the same number of Super Bowls as Tom Landry.
