Alot of people are guilty of being in love with Barber's style of running, not his production.

You guys are completely missing the point. You run the ball first no matter what. Nit picking about the length of the runs is dumb. The Cowboys are going to pound it this year, whether it is JJ or MB3. Both will do just fine.

The running game looked better with JJ playing. He showed some vision and cutback ability.

I still think Barber is better fit with this offense.

A powerful inside runner will place a lot pressure on defenses because they will be defending inside out.

Barber is a talented player no doubt. I wish JJ had his toughness and from the looks of it the hunger to play; if that were so, I think MBIII would see significantly less time on the field. But JJ is much faster and shiftier than MBIII and has a much greater chance of cutbacking it for thirty yards.

The thing is, there are only so many thirty plus yard gashes. MBIII is much better in getting the tough yardage and running between the tackles.

MBIII could be a starting running back in this league, and honestly the preseason game confirmed that. That being said, I would rather have a two-headed approach.

You guys are hilarious. I have an agenda now, lol.

The guy touched the ball 15 times in one half of work. He was getting the work load which is exactly what I said.

I said that from the looks of things in this one particular game he is the workhorse.

But I love the agenda stuff. I understand BZ trying to make me the bad guy because he hates me, but the guys jumping in about the idea that MBIII is just some hack who has not shot at being 'the guy' in this offense are just silly. Have you guys been following the team for the last year? The entire world has been going back and forth on who should be the starting RB for this team, but I have an agenda, lol.

The matter of fact is that I like the situation just as it were last season. Julius is the home run hitter who can go 77 yards for a TD so he is the starter. MBIII is the closer who also gets the dirty work done.

My agenda fellas is that the Cowboys win the Super Bowl.

He was also getting the workload in a meaningless preseason game where most of his carries came against 2nd and 3rd stringers.

Totally disagree about Barber...because if that was an audition to start, he failed miserably. He didn't get going until their scrubs entered the game.

I completely agree. Julius Jones was clearly the superior back on Thursday night as far as running the ball. I didn't look at blitz pickups for Julius, but Barber continued to do a great job with that.

I hate you because I pointed out you were giving incorrect info?

I didn't make you look bad, you did. I never brought up agenda...I did accuse you of not wanting to just admit being wrong, which is a common thing with you it seems.

We are a pass first team, we aren't going to be pounding it at all.

Look at the roster...Garrett is a smart guy...that adds up to passing early and often.

We are going to throw it, get the lead, turn the defense loose, get short fields and more points, increase the lead, and then we will pound the ball.

Must have been on the 10, 8, 16 and 13 yard runs he had...

Primarily against 2nd and 3rd teamers. Jones basically left the game with Owens and Witten.

Everyone put a sock in it. Truth is, we need BOTH JJ & MBIII this year. Next year will be a different story when we get McFadden in the fold...;)

Great Point.

But I think if anybody on this team has a choice to jump from second string to starter it's MBIII. It is possible and maybe even probable (we don't know jack) that the coaching staff may want to have MBIII as the main setback.

Even if they aren't, it won't matter because whoever gets the starting job is still going to have to share the ball because of their own strengths and weaknesses. Besides; it would be smarter to have JJ in on first and second down since those are conventionally the rushing downs, and JJ has the best opportunity to gash for a bunch of yards.

We are also going to use the back in the passing game more and JJ is more dangerous in space.

I think if we are going to critique every run that Barber makes and judge by that then its misleading.

He is known for breaking the runs later in the game(regardless) of opposing players(status 1st string, backup or whatever)...

Barber will be fine... probably shouldnt be a starter anyways... he needs to be fresh for MORE quality run... than quantity of runs.

Please don't even try it bro. You know you can't stand me from CF. Get real and don't pull a fast one here by making it seem like I said that based on this single thread.

Oh no, I made a mistake on his running plays, the world will end. lol.

As for being wrong about what? My opinion? That's your problem on here or anywhere you post. Other people having opinions that don't concur with your opinion makes them wrong and you right. Sad bro.

Oh yeah, your right. I must have been dreaming about hearing over and over again that most teams use the 3rd preseason game as a dress rehearsal for the opener.

So then I guess we only see Romo for about 2 drives against the Texans right?
