After JJ Watt got 20 sacks, he got 10.5, then he got 17.5, injured for 2 years, then he got 16 again. His sacks didn’t plummet after opposing teams started doubling him.

DLaw is considered a premier pass rusher because DLaw asked for a premier pass rusher contract after putting up those sacks. If you knew what DLaw was going to do after the contract, would you still give him 20m$ a year?

How many sacks did JJ Watt get in 2018 and 2020? The years he played 16 games?

And pay doesn't determine how good of a player you are. He's a very good defensive end in this league. But the cowboys or whoever else was misguided to ever consider him a "premium pass rusher".

If people want to say he's overrated because of the games he's played that's one thing. But I haven't seen that mentioned. Its been "he doesn't get sacks".

To be fair to him, he did miss some games one season due to a suspension for PEDs. There is that to hang one’s hat on, I guess.
