'Deadly Conduct' warrrant issued for Deon Anderson

I didn't think that "Deadly Conduct" had anything to do with the traffic tickets.

Haha.

Might be the jaywalking tickets though.

Who cares about traffic tickets, but Cricket needs to be gone for flashing a gun. The guns were apparently found in the bushes, so that shows he knew better.

This is not how an NFL player, much less a Dallas Cowboy, needs to conduct his business. Adios.

If this is true, he'll be sleeping in the UConn gym again in short order...

Not necessarily. Deadly conduct is a measly Class A misdemeanor in Texas. He may see some jail time, but nothing too substantial.

*edit. It can be a 3rd degree felony, but I don't think it is in this case.

If he didn't point or fire it at anyone, he should be OK. Texas isn't like New York in terms of gun laws.

Here is the Deadly Conduct code.

Sec. 22.05. Deadly Conduct
(a) A person commits an offense if he recklessly engages in conduct that places another in imminent danger of serious bodily injury.
(b) A person commits an offense if he knowingly discharges a firearm at or in the direction of:
(1) one or more individuals; or
(2) a habitation, building, or vehicle and is reckless as to whether the habitation, building, or vehicle is occupied.
(c) Recklessness and danger are presumed if the actor knowingly pointed a firearm at or in the direction of another whether or not the actor believed the firearm to be loaded.
(d) For purposes of this section, "building," "habitation," and "vehicle" have the meanings assigned those terms by Section 30.01.
(e) An offense under Subsection (a) is a Class A misdemeanor. An offense under Subsection (b) is a felony of the third degree.

Sounds to me like he brandished a gun at someone. If its not illegal to carry a handgun in your car in Texas, this has to be it. Plaxico did time for less.....

Yeah, but laws vary (sometimes greatly) from state to state. I think we'll see proof of that in this case. He gets a slap on the wrist, imo.

Bring back my monster FB from Training Camp.

Jeez ANOTHER tough guy who has to flash a gun. What is it with this mentality? Guy is a football player on the Cowboys, how big a bad *** does he need to be? How do you screw something up like that, and just so you can play gangsta in front of your friends? To a freakin' VALET?

He'll learn the hard way pulling a weapon in a concealed carry state like Texas. You brandish a weapon at someone, they are in their rights to shoot you.

Two AM, huh? Sorta sounds like he closed the place down and then did something dumb and then compounded it. Doesn't sound like the fun-loving Deon we all know. Too bad, I kinda liked him.

Do you think Jerry and Stephen Jones give two craps about all this minutiae.

That stuff is for Anderson's lawyer to worry about.

They care about one of their players being arrested for pulling gun during an argument at 2am in the morning where someone from their group was drunk.

And this was not in self defense as far as we are hearing.

This seems to be a case of 'You laughing...? Well now you I am holding this 9 and we will see if you still think it's funny!'

That's not a guy Jerry or any NFL owner should want repping their team.

Actually, Plaxico is doing time for his gun discharging... big difference...

That being said, if he brandished a gun, I want no part of him here...

A "should" doesn't amount to a pile of beans when it comes to what Jerry Jones wants to do. Just look at Kieth Davis as only one example. Go back to the 90s and you'll find even more. It's sort of a badge of honor. Heck, even Barry Switzer was packing heat in an airport. In Texas, the defense is that famous people need to protect themselves from... fanatics. ;)

Plaxico did time because of mandatory sentencing for concealed weapons in NY. Yes it was far less, but different rules apply.

That said Plaxico is going to get out of jail and get another chance, because he is talented.

Looks like Deon may have blown his meal ticket.

If Wade wants him back, he'll be back. That's the bottom line.

Considering that John Phillips was getting a significant portion of his reps toward the end of the year, I wouldn't invest in real estate in the Dallas/Ft Worth area if I were Cricket.

Keith Davis was cut and brought back after being shot in the ***.

:laugh2:

I don't think it's the same as pulling a gun on some valet who thinks it's funny your car won't start.

:lmao:

So if Wade calls Jerry and says we are keeping Deon and Jerry and Stephen are in the thinking that this hurts the public perception of franchise and the best move is to cut ties with him you think Deon Anderson will still be on the team?
