Awesome episode last night. Two highlights:

1. Discussion of gratis versus "free" was hysterical.

2. How about EB's sillioquies last night? "That gutter-mouth b**** going up to see the death-sick sky-high widow - a conversation for the ages!"

BTW, Calamity Jane has become one of my favorite characters. The language is overboard at times, but this character absolutely slays me with her use of offensive language.

If you have HBO...I think they are going to show the first 3 episodes this thursday or Friday...IMO it IS worth watching.

Calamity is becoming my fav as well...EBs lines were funny but it made me laugh even more when she retorts to him.

Also we find out that Powers Booth's character is not at all intimidated by Swearenger and actually has a very nasty streak himself.

I think her language is legit...maybe not to the degree in which it's portrayed, but certainly she felt the need to overcompensate with language.

The show needs more Seth Bullock. Timothy Olyphant is going to be a star, IMO.

btw the CS count was I think 5

:p The shock value must have worn out as I really did not notice it as much on the last episode.

Oh btw I did some research on Calamity Jane....and I guess she was a foul mouthed woman...but she also saved a General's life while she served as a scout in the Calvary.

I was surprised to find out the characters were based on real people. How accurate who knows for sure.

And the CS word wasn't a noticable this time. Swearengen wasn't going off on a tirade.

http://blackhills-info.com/calamity_jane/CALAMITY.htm

It is really cool...it is in her own words...no cussing in this one...but it tells of stuff from before deadwood to after deadwood.

Also has a few pictures....one of her, one of wild bill, one of the town of deadwood.
Also says that the man who killed wild bill escaped but later was caught and hung...not like in the show it appears.

Here is a link that is talking about her....it says it is from Wild Bill's words about her...

http://www.cowboys.com/dream/cowgals/calamity.htm

At the top of that last page it also says that she was buried to Wild Bill in deadwood.

There is another thread I put out...Wild West links...that has some good info about some of the other members of the wild west....Doc Holiday was a very interesting read...and in the movie Tombstone when he was dying he Said "Why this is funny"...and apparently he actually did say that before dying...but he said it after drinking some whiskey.

Very good episode last last night. I will have to remember to watch it again. As usual Jane was hilarious especially with Charlie at Wild Bill's grave. The Bullock-Swearengen conflict should get very interesting soon. The two kids are going to be interesting. Did I hear them right when they said the should have a good score between the two casinos?

oh Btw the CS count was 6 :D

Yes about the kids....seems they are grifters/swindlers.

Very good Show last night IMO.

I think that was a Love Blooms episode last night.

Bullock and Garrett Woman seem to like each other.
Bullocks Friend seemed a little sweet on Trixie
And the guy that works for Swearengen (with long hair) seems sweet on the young girl.

Also the guy that was left out in the woods to die....well look for trouble from him.

Man, this series has really pulled me in. The dialog is one of the most well-written scripts I have ever seen unfold. I love E.B.'s silliloquies. It's almost like watching a Shakespearean play.

I have a feeling that the Reverend is carrying around an awful secret from his past.

I am truly mezmorized by just about every character in this series.

Agreed about the Rev...seems he took up his work because of something he is trying to repent for...and his mention of his current troubles adds to that idea.

You are right about the characters....very good job in all areas.

Montana and Al locking horns seemed very interesting.....both have that look and you could tell both were giving the best Evil Eye looks to each other.

The two kids could be very interesting depending on how they do.

Like you said...this show really sucks you in.

Old Al was getting all kind of curve balls thrown at him in this last episode...he finds out that Trixie has been lying about the widower and just when he thinks he has Trixie...she turns things around and makes him think.

EB ...looks dumb but always has a way with Al to disarm him yet make him mad at the same time.

Bullock coming in and saying he is not backing down from him....basically saying I want YOUR man to check the claim and if YOUR man does a bad job I am coming for YOU. Very Wise on Bullocks part and very dangerous as well...we shall see how it pans out.

Well I guess the young girl was not as tough as she thought...also I do not know if that was the same girl that played the girl in the Interview with a vampire movie...but they looked like the same person...especially with those eyes.

So the Widow strikes it rich and gives Trixie a chunk of gold to get out of deadwood...then trixie takes the chunk of gold to Al....is she just doing this to buy some time before she can leave...it also leaves it open for bullocks friend to develope a relationship with trixie which should lead to an interesting edge.
