I just read Dean Blandino's explanation of the penalty on Butler in the Green Bay game. I believe that either he is an incompetent **** or crooked as hell. What an *** clown!!!!! That is all. Carry on.

blandino is a total jerk, never has refed nfl game, look it up, one thing about it, come judgement day, blandino will have to answer to God for robbing us of the catch, even the NFL admitted that was a blown call, even profootballtalk showed that by rule, only way that call can be made is if the player communicates in the huddle, butler did not. so blandino is full of crap, will have to answer for that, plus he cant say oh this or that, and will have to answer why he never Refed in a NFL game or college,

Should have asked him how our defense could not stop Rodgers for most of the game.

Easily explained by Green Bay holding consistently all game. Hard to generate a pass rush when the refs won't call a hold on the opposing team you are trying to rush. Just my opinion.

Not a odd or lesser known rule, holding is pretty simple.

If refs were paid on an incentive program based upon bad or missed calls vs good ones, we would see better officiating.

Blandino has spent 20 years in officiating. He's responsible for all on-field staff, internal staff, the administration, the hiring, the training and the retention of officials. He evaluates the officials and is in charge of the entire operation. He spent 4 years as an instant replay official and was selected to work two SB's. He has a thankless job trying to please FANS and no one that has ever had his job has gotten any respect from FANS. The fact you think we still got robbed by the overturn during the Green Bay playoff game in 2014 show's you have no clue about the RULE. The NFL never admitted that was a blown call, they confirmed it was the correct call under the RULE. What the NFL admitted was the Butler penalty was a mistake. Try getting the facts straight!

I wonder how many times Corrente was faced with that same situation and has NOT called that penalty. Not sure how common it is for a player to do that.

If it happens a decent amount and the ref only calls it once every couple of years, then he should be held accountable. If it only happens once in a blue moon, then I have no problem with it even if other refs never call it. The coaches have to know what refs call what penalties and be prepared.

i guess in this instance blandino said the guy leaving the field had played the down before, so it was just a normal substitution. i know the rule says huddle but i think the most important thing about the rule according to blandino is a player cant run onto the field and then run off without playing in it. with that said, it really did sound like blandino thought its an unnecessary rule that shouldnt have been called. Ben even said is this one of those things that you call corrente into your office and say hey lay off on this one and blandino said its one of those things that yes we will discuss.

with all that said isnt it pretty ridiculous how we are having to discuss the interpretation of rules more and more. officiating is playing way too big of a part in deciding games for the nfl. its a problem in my opinion.

Blandino could do nothing about the mistake made with Butler, that was the officials on the field but he's taking the heat for it because he's responsible for the crews which shows just how thankless a job he has. Show me one official that gets any respect from fans? They all receive abuse because whatever call they make is going to piss off one side. Put anyone in Blandino's position and they'll receive hate from fans because it's a no win job.

The rule had only been called once before as Blandino mentioned. And that was 2 years ago. It makes you wonder why they have the rule and why Corrente calls the penalty. And in similar stuff like this, they usually give a warning much like if you're lined up a hair offsides or that unsportsmanlike call when a D-Lineman is yelling something during the QB's cadence.

I would also like to see when in the play that flag was thrown. If it was thrown at the beginning, then it gives Corrente a little more credibility. If it's thrown while the ball is in the air, then I have to doubt Corrente's intentions even more.

The thing about Dean Blandino is... lots of people are terrible at their jobs. He obviously is very bad at is. And that's okay (sorta). But when you start having agendas against certain people or organizations, that's when you gotta go. It's getting out of hand with this clown. The insanely horrible officiating could've potentially cost us 2 super bowls these past 3 seasons. You just can't do that. So much is on the line. People's jobs are at stake, the economy is drastically affected, not to mention millions of Cowboys fans suffering around the world emotionally. lol but seriously... the man needs to be fired

Notice how the Dez no catch that's been beaten like a dead horse for 2 years is being brought up again? It's just another way to add to the misery that some are putting themselves through, that the officials and the league are costing us playoff games and championships. Some of what's been posted on this topic is absolutely ludicrous.

It's not the Cowboys and their defense that are costing us these games, it's a the league and Blandino conspiring against us. LOL Instead of some of you torturing yourselves believing there's a conspiracy against the Cowboys and that games are fixed, I suggest giving up watching the sport because I don't know how some of you can go on enjoying the game if you believe some of the crap that's spewed on this board. You don't hear any of this stuff in the media, it's all in the heads of FANS.

Your continual defense of this inept clown is truly dumbfounding. Spare us the "they never get any respect from the fans" bit because nobody forced them into their jobs, and they get paid quite well for doing it (no matter the level of ineptness). If they want respect, then they (Blandino, in particular) should do their damn job in a manner that would warrant it. Otherwise, they should get out of the way and let someone who is qualified and has at least some level of integrity come in in their place.

It was a bad call/mistake but it happened early in the game and we still came back and tied the ball game but our defense broke down again with the game on the line. That call wasn't the reason our D gave up three first possession TD's.

Complaining about the officiating is just a way to blame the loss on the officials. It wasn't us, it was the officials. lol
