There is a reason De Angelo Hall was let go in Oakland. They play freaking man-to-man defense, meaning they actually let their corners play. The guy was flat-out getting abused, because he can't cover. His numbers were horrible.Maybe he would make a good free safety though. I'm sure he could cover half the field with his speed.

We already have a free safety. What we need is strong safety, and Hall can never be that because he's a zone-scheme cover corner; not a tackling machine in run support.

He was never that good to begin with. He was over rated from the beginning of his career. I don't think he is terrible even though he is playing terrible right now. He just was never as good as the hype surrounding him.

With Newman coming back there is no need for Dallas to bring in an other corner back. Dallas may even get Pacman back before the year is out. Even if they don't, they still have no need for Hall.

Hall is 5-10 and 195. He's not very big for a safety. However, perhaps the league needs to rethink safety positions. Certainly they need to tackle. Perhaps they don't have to deliver bone shattering hits anymore. Or be a small LB with speed. Perhaps they need to be more of a CB than a S. Haven't really thought about it much though. You need 4-5 CBs on the field at times in a pass happy NFL.

One of the worst teams in the NFL released him.
Probably released him because he was so good, huh.

In reading the story, DeAngelo spent a lot of time defending himself and said he is not a bad person. Not a good sign.
