Dez acted like a child on the sideline yesterday. Passion only counts when you are trying to fire up your team, not getting in shouting matches with teammates. Perfectly fine to be upset at how the game was going but acting THAT way wasn't helping YOU or the TEAM. The End.
The end? That story did not appeal to my open mind.. I want a refund.

I would challenege someone to tell me they are a bigger Dez fan than I am.

WIth that being said, the outburst at the end isn't a good sign. If you go back and watch, Romo is getting everyone ready to go on the field and gestures to Dez to "lets go" and Dez must have been standing put, and then Romo yells very violently "DEZ!!" and then just turns away. Witten than takes his helmet off and heads towards Dez. If you read Witten's lips, he says something along the lines like "Then go! Then go!" and then he says "We need you." There's also a point where Witten says "Don't yell at me." In between all this, Witten is pointing to the clock which was to indicate there's still time left for something to happen.

I don't care how you want to twist it. What transpired wasn't good. Do I think it will linger? No. Especially if we start winning. But all that "Dez is growing up stuff" needs to simmer down. I was extremely dissappointed especially with how much I defend this guy on a daily basis.

Dez isn't happy with this mediocre loss acceptance environment. I applaud him for his passion, self-motivation, and attempt to help his older team members shed their acceptance of the loser environment. Any other dissection of his sideline behavior is pure sensationalism.

100% agreed. Im tired of mediocrity. Im tired of out player s just accepting defeat. Im tired of seeing players laughing and smiling after loses. Im tired of seeing our head coach consistently mismanaging the clock. Someone on the team needs to say no this crap is unacceptable. Even a Commanders fan said. .. dez.. targeted only 6 times, romo being romo.

I think this thread is the most hysterical I've seen in a while. Dez was the epitome of holding up to his end of the bargain. He said nothing I thought controversial before the game and off of 3 catches that he had to beg for created 14 points of our 30. What's really sad is the most I've ever seen Witten fired up is when another teammate of his got fired up and he opposed him. Lol. It's not like when T.O. erupted, see, T.O. never backed up the sideline blowups. Dez did. I love it. As long as he matches it like he did today, I don't see how anyone could have a problem with it. I think it's hilarious that he had to beg for the ball against one of the worst defenses in the league. Dez, Lee, Hatcher, Carr can say anything they wanna say. They're guys that are playing right now. And if you wanna know what Carr said about getting spanked, he paid respect to Calvin and said, I'll be back next week and I would embrace the challenge again. Better than some corporate jargun our other players would say.

Come on man really Witten pointing to the clock that had like less than a minute on it LOL. Dez knew it was over because of the same reason most of us here knew it was over. Dumb coaching, feet tangled in the frst qtr not the same in the 4th, an entire book on bad things happening one after the other when we should have won. The Cowboys are very proficient in losing games in the oddest of fashion. With that said we stil lead the NFC east. We need to fix the defense yesterday!!!

I hear what you are saying. I definitely do. I agree with Dez and that mediocrity is not acceptable and we have to step on their throat. Dez was most upset at the fact that we took our foot off the gas, and he was out of that last play of 3rd and whatever.

With that being said, what I didn't like about the outburst was that it indicated he did not want to go back on the field. I'm sure his case was "You held me out on that last play, why should I go back now?" But to me, that's unacceptable. Romo and Witten shouldn't have to shout at Dez to get him to come back out for that last drive, no matter how slim the chances are. That is the only thing I have a problem with. If Witten doesn't get in his face, as well as Ware, does Dez stay on the sidelines for that last play?

Some of you just fall right into the perceptions that the media wants you to have of a player or a team. The Dez vs Calvin thing was a media creation. Dez being a bad teammate and a cancer due to his outburst is currently in the creative process and you're falling right into it. To quote a former Cowboys coach, "You've been sucked!". Never a dull week in Big D. The franchise people love to hate.

Well if that's the case then, if his QB is a choker, and his employer who signs his checks every week's pay is an idiot, how come he doesn't request a trade?
I think Dez is great, love to have him on our team, but not like that, and I can't believe some fans will actually defend that attitude, that scene, yet will say Romo should leave, etc. Not consistent IMO.
Really bro, do you think that would do any good. THEN people like you would really come out of the wood work to blast Dez. I'll take his fire over the businessman approach this team has had for the past umpteen years or so. IMO he had every right to be po'd, one on one all day and one of two things come to play, either Romo does not trust himself to get Dez the ball with a corner on him or he doesn't trust Dez to beat the corner with tight coverage. Me, I think its Romo doesn't trust himself because Dez has won betting on himself everytime he goes up. Every quarterback in the league with a receiver as dynamic as Bryant throws to them no matter what when they need to because they know he can beat the one on one. Not our guy and you can pick whichever our guy I'm referring to, for me our guy is Romo, I have no doubt Dez beats a corner one on one for a contested ball, question is can Romo put it where it needs to be for him to do so.

"We need some guys to play with some passion! Look at Miles Austin and Roy Williams smiling when we lose! Look at Tashard Choice asking Mike Vick for an autograph! These guys don't care about winning, they don't take it seriously! We need t....whoa....whooooooa there Dez Bryant! Not so much passion! Bring it down a peg! We need you to act like a professional!"

Some of you guys are a joke. Give me 53 Dez Bryants on this team. Michael Irvin is the best Cowboys WR ever and he got in people's faces all the time. Peyton Manning had a well documented screaming match with Jeff Saturday on the sideline. These are grown men, they get over it.

You know what's more embarrassing to the Cowboys? Constantly losing games in miraculous fashion.

12 replies (answers) not counting this one, so make it 13. Troll? Hardly. I have just started to post this season with a total of 115 posts and 43 likes. That leaves me with a like percentage of 37%. You on the other hand have 28,578 posts and 14 likes; a whopping 0.000489%. (Gee I hope those stats are wrong).
That makes me Peyton Manning, and it makes you Ryan Leaf. Quality over quantity my fellow "respectful" and very brave Cowboys fan.

Actually, the 'like' system has been in place less than a year. Over that time, you've probably posted more than Trick has.

I am not going to read through everything. This team for the most part always seems to be on the edge of dis-interest. They do not get really mad or really happy. its very even keeled. It would be nice if they showed they care. I do not count the mini celebrations after a tackle or 1st down. But overall they are almost like a trance. I for right now am happy we have guys like Hatch and Dez other wise it just seems this team is going through the motions. I understand you can't let the bad plays bring you down but you need the good plays pump you up.

Dear Dez, you're beyond great, it's just that, grow up and shut up or get out!

Dear Dez:

Talent isn't everything, I am a huge supporter of you, I think you have sick talent, ridiculous once in a generation kind of talent, (well perhaps twice), because as much talent as you have you'll never be Calvin Johnson.

Now wait a minute, not because of the lack of talent -- not like that at all -- it's because of your lack of maturity, your lack of focus and your absolutely disgusting childish personality on the bench.

Your two TD catches today were far more superior than those of Johnson, the one handed ridiculous catch, the amazing balance and speed on the sideline. The talent is there, the fear in the defense is always active, but the tantrum on the sideline. Child please!?

Have you ever seen Rice, Fitzgerald, Calvin and Andre Johnson ever do that? I haven't either, I only saw Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and now you, do it. Those are the ridiculously talented, yet controversial players. Sometimes forgotten and always critiqued players. Do you want to be remembered for that? The ridiculously talented receiver who not become the complete focused, intelligent, and also unstoppable player?

If I'm head coach or any kind of coach I would slap you silly, fine you and call you out. You're not supposed to go yell at your quarterback like that, I mean after all you owe him everything. And how do I know you're wrong? Because you even managed to get Mr. Professional, Mr. All-Pro, and Mr. Cowboy Jason Witten t go out of his way and tell you out. Not even that, but the defender of the generation DeMarcus Ware too.

I don't care if you're passionate, I don't care if you want to win and YOU THINK you want to win more badly than the rest, that is NO WAY to call out the teammates, that is no way to behave in the sideline, not with a star in your helmet.

Consider this a personal note from me (an average fan) to you (an above average superstar), if you want to be the complete package, the class-act and the respected player, you have to be a leader, a well-behaved leader. Surely you want to win, but don't you think Calvin Johnson wants to win too? And did you see him yell at Stafford in the sideline after each of his multiple interceptions? Did you see him get off like some kind of gangster on the south side of Chicago at midnight after a bar fight? Simply no. So dear Dez, get it together, keep it straight mentally speaking, and go out there and win with your game, not with your immature and childish attitude.

Sincerely,

Mookie
