There has been a big debate in regards to the Cowboys signing any top rated Free agents.

The debate is over. The Cowboys signed the #1 DE and probably a top 3 overall free agent. The cost could be up to 13M for 1 year.

Were there some sig wagers on this issue? Who was it that guaranteed it would not happen?

I love this offseason! I said before FA started that if they signed Greg Hardy I don't care how many free agents they lose as long as they franchise Dez.

I'm OK with the roster as is including RB. My biggest concern is now CB.

I'm no terribly concerned about CB. I'd have liked to have had Moore back as insurance, but he is a very limited player. Carr is too expensive, but cutting him is not the answer unless you have a backup plan. I do think we need to inject more talent into the secondary via the draft.

I still want more depth on the defensive side of the ball, and another WR and RB. I also really hope they are right in their faith with Weems.

I really think they've so far done almost exactly everything they planned to do.

Now if someone wants to disagree with what their plan was, that's one thing.
But they clearly did have a plan and have executed it very well.

They are not done either.
At least 3-4 more moves coming up still before the draft, I suspect.

A lot of people took their shots after Parnell left, which is funny because he was valued much higher than Free.

I had faith in Jason to get a deal or two done. Give me McClain and Gurley and I'm quiet as a church mouse concerning the FO

LBers....and a FS wouldn't hurt.

Realistically and simply because DE has been addressed.

Cowboys faithful should rest well tonight...Hardy!!!!

I didn't think the Cowboys were not going to sign free agents. I simply didn't think they were going to go "all-in" and they didn't from my perspective.

An "all-in" effort would have kept Murray on board.

And I think the contract they signed with Hardy was pretty smart. It was a judicious signing.

Give me Mcclain and Gurley and I'm as far away from quiet concerning the FO as could be. This is likely what I would be!

I was hoping for a slightly more proven CB - like Parrish Cox, and linebacker is still an issue, but I'm feeling pretty good heading into the draft.

Yep. I lean toward the @Risen Star opinion of taking on the risk to give him multiple years, but I can't fault the FO for showing restraint and minimizing risk.

Corner is not my concern. Happy Moore is gone, never understood the love for him. Carr, Scandrick, Claiborne and Patmon are enough for me plus I am certain we add a 3rd or 4th rounder.

It's incredibly low risk for the Cowboy. He will be double motivated both to acheive contract incentives and a new contract.

He probably wouldn't be happy if they got him for future years on a far below market value contract anyway.

Lets the Cowboys see if they want to keep him. His market should be better next year without a suspension hovering over but there likely will still be a lot of teams that will stay away.

I'm happy with the signing. Would have liked a greater investment in Hardy but that may not have been possible. As it stands, this was a bit of a hybrid signing: depending upon how much he plays, it will either turn out to be a budget signing with little impact or (hopefully, and more likely) a high-priced, impact signing. Viewed in that light both sides of the debate ended up being right.
