Thats not true because Deebo made it known that he doesn't want to frequently run the ball as much as Kyle Shanahan had him running.

I don't care what he says, that's his gimmick and what makes him special - take that away and he's another WR. At the very least, you put him in the backfield and have him catching there. He only had 59 rushes in 2021 and still got 8 TDs out of that, he's too productive there to not have him in the backfield.

If he's only going to be a WR, that's a hard pass.

Be honest with yourself. Would Dallas pay Deebo top dollar?

If Dallas traded for him, like it did with Cooper, and liked what it saw from him, like it did with Cooper, it would pay him top dollar as one of its own, like it did with Cooper.

CeeDee Lamb already has their label as top WR.

LOL, I'd love to see the Eagles try it. They just signed A.J Brown. If they signed Deebo, both would be a big cap hit on the same year, 2024. Over 50M in cap space for two WRs.

Lol, I know. I was joking more about how they always seem to magically pull cap space out of nowhere.

Let's see just how much he want s to be a Cowboy when they tell him they won't pay close to what he is asking for.

Isn't this exactly the type of situation the Cowboys are trying to avoid? They got rid of Cooper, there is talk about Zeke despite what they are now saying. They don't want to tie down a quarter of their cap money to a couple of skill players

Oh, I'm not expecting anything to happen, just pointing out that the front office feels differently about players it trades for than other teams' free agents. They absolutely refuse to spend big on outside FAs, but they don't mind throwing money at the players they have, even ones they traded for like Cooper.

The difference for them is if you've proved you belong then they feel good about rewarding you, but if they have to reward you without knowing if you belong, they see that as too much of a risk.

Yup. We've already tried that. Didn't and doesn't work.

Great player but a poor use of our cap space to give him what like $23M per? If we hadn’t yet signed Gallup I’d be all for it, but with the current makeup on our team it wouldn’t be smart.

Yes, lets wrap all of our money into the WR position and not the O / D line

You know, something this crazy is just the stuff Jerry might do. Makes no financial sense, but boy would it be fun to watch
IF it were the old JJ i could see it, unfortunately his son has much power

And not win anything beyond a division title, like it did with Cooper.

Well, to be fair, we haven't won anything after trading for a player since the 1990s. But we haven't won doing anything else, either, whether it was hiring a Hall of Fame coach, spending a lot in FA, spending a little in FA, drafting well or drafting poorly.

Which is why I don't think it matters if the Cowboys make a move for Deebo or not. We all know where the problems lie, even though some refuse to acknowledge it.

If the Jerry and Stephen front office was capable of doing big things they wouldn't need three decades to prove it. They aren't up to it. Enjoy 12-5 when you can get it.

Signing Deebo would pretty much push Lamb out. Deebo further complicates things because he doesn't have a 5th year option. That means Diggs and Deebo would hit them hard the same year. At least with Lamb the years are staggered a year apart. If they choose to pay him. Which I doubt.

you put him back there for any more and he will get destroyed.

Yeah, otherwise they'll have to compete for a super bowl, no time for annoying stuff like that!!!!

Yeah, cuz he isn't a primary piece of a SB run they could make. I mean, he had nothing to do with their playoff run past year. Good call.
