Defensive Ineptitude

Zero sacks once again.

Sacks are nice but being able to put consistant pressure on the QB, forcing early passes, bad passes, etc on a consistant basis is more important.

that said...Dallas can get neither sacks nor consistant pressure on the QB.

They need help. People will hate hearing this but bring back Michael Sam. At least he's got fresh legs. Throw him in, worst that can happen is Dallas gets no sacks and can't get consistant pressure on the QB

They'll say that he won't make a difference, but guys like Selvie and Spencer aren't making much of a difference either

Philly was getting pressure on Romo with 4 guys...

Went to the prevent too early. And the team is pretty terrible in zone.

Is what it is. Needs a talent infusion.

No pressure will do that to you. Look at what happened to our offense once we solidified that line. That D needs the same effort. We can switch corners safeties all day, but if the opposing qb has all day to throw, they will get open.

Against Philly? You had to dig up comments from Thanksgiving?

And even then, NOT saying we'd lose.

Hey chief, you said that I said we'd lose "THIS game."

I clearly didn't.

Nice try. Please move on.

You gave up on the season. You please move on. I don't care if it was from the Philly game, this game, 2 weeks ago's game. You threw in the towel. And now you need something else to whine about.

Wait - you started a thread about defensive ineptitude and yet blamed Romo in the Denver loss in the game thread? Am I right about that or did I miss something.

Uh, I did.

What's with all you dudes taking personal affronts?

Since you brought it up, quick, if a game is tied 0-0 in the 4th, and a QB throws an INT, in his own side of the field, which leads to a game-winning FG, who's at fault?

Now, stick to the thread or put me on ignore.

Listen. You said THIS GAME:

If you're gonna start something, stick to it, and stop with your straw men.

I absolutely voice my frustrations, because I'm an emotional dude, so if you're going to make your judgments of me based on a game thread, you will get raw, uncut opinions. Some are wrong, some are right. I'm just venting.

That said, NOT ONCE have I quit. I'm here for every freaking game, dude.

Once the game's over, I generally calm down and make more rational thoughts.

Nope - you should at least defend these unbelievable assertions or refrain from posting them.

In the history of the league quarterbacks are 241 - 0 when scoring that many points - and that was on Romo? Can you explain that?

I asked you a simple question.

Don't run, don't skirt.

Answer it, or move on.

Offense, at one point, had a 28 point lead, and scored 41 points, and still, the game was way too close.

McClain looks injured. Carter going through the motions. Hitch not good the last few weeks.

DL invisible. S's terrible. Outside of OSCan, CB's average (Moore) to below (Carr).

Can anyone rise to the occasion this year?

If not, how many new players does this unit need next year?
When you've spent no resources on the defense, what do we expect? All the number 1 draft picks are on the other side of the ball.

Let's see - did the receiver run the right route? Did the line do its job? Was the ball tipped? The variables are endless. But even if the quarterback threw a terrible pass and it was picked, never in the history of the NFL has a game ever been won or lost in one quarter of football.

The argument is so flawed I don't even know where to begin but I answered it - still waiting on your answer.

I don't disagree, and the results are clearly there, most of the time.

I just wonder (hope, pray, whatever) if anyone can step up on defense this year, but I'm not confident.

Prevent or not, IMO, a 28 point lead should've never should've gotten so uncomfortable.

The pass defense is crap because we get no pass rush. It's pathetic. I scream at my tv when I see Rod rushing three or having a d-lineman dropping in coverage. Rod Marinelli is an overrated d coordinator. He's just an excellent postion coach. His scheme leaves a lot to be desired.

"Yoshimitsu I agree. You might as well be aggressive by biltzing then letting a team beat you with no pressure.

So if we don't make the playoffs, or go no where in the playoffs, does he have the right to blast you for false hope? So leave the dude alone. We have 18 plus years of failure, everyone has a right to be cautious.

So the QB's NOT at fault. Really? Spoken like a guy who really wants to protect Romo.

Fact is, the game was tied with the ball in his hand. Don't care if the score was 100-100, 10-10, 40-40 or 0-0. It money-time and it was on him.

This thread was about the defense, and you brought Romo into it.

I'm done talking about him in this thread.

But even if the quarterback threw a terrible pass and it was picked, never in the history of the NFL has a game ever been won or lost in one quarter of football.

The Catch, Immaculate Reception, Hail Mary, Holy Roller, Every overtime, ever.

Yup, games are never won in one quarter.

Those plays were the end result of AN ENTIRE GAME.

Dude - I'm gonna let it go, you've just dug yourself so deep a hole, I just can't debate it. It's not fair to you.
One last thing - when Tony sucks I say he does but I have the common sense to know it's a team game.

We won - we're both happy.

That had nothing to do with it. You're the d coord. Stop them. If not him than who is accountable?

Oh no doubt, the defending in the fourth quarter was horrendous and Marinelli didn't seem to have any answer.

The only keepers on this defense are T.Crawford, O.Scandrick, R. Mcclain and maybe Lawrence with a full camp

Sounds more like a personnel issue to me.
