Of course, but I wonder how that will go. For whatever reason, it just looks like the scouts are not on the same page with the coaching staff when it comes to picking players for the defense. Changing systems has not helped but not real confident in the communication.

Systems are a waste without talent. Hello Jerrah

This is very accurate. Im not sure i understand what the team wants to be defensively

A quick fix is stopping them, sacks which we had none of, making third and longs. It's up to the defense to get off the field. If that's the case then they gotta look in the mirror

I just believe that the talent on defense hasent been spectacular that last 10 years coming out of college,....i cant really put into detail, but yah when there is a sean taylor, or a reggie white, in the draft i believe our front office will know about it

The only keepers on this defense are T.Crawford, O.Scandrick, R. Mcclain and maybe Lawrence with a full camp

Church is a decent SS, problem is, so is Wilcox. We need a FS, then I'd say keep one of the two we have now as SS and use the draft pick somewhere else

is he an MVP candidate, i think honestly JJ Watt is the only hands down player i would take over Rodgers or Brady, that being said there are alot of good players ALOT, but GREAT i dont know, time will tell. But back to the point i just dont think we have had anyone come out latley that will change a defense from worst to best per say

Offense, at one point, had a 28 point lead, and scored 41 points, and still, the game was way too close.

McClain looks injured. Carter going through the motions. Hitch not good the last few weeks.

DL invisible. S's terrible. Outside of OSCan, CB's average (Moore) to below (Carr).

Can anyone rise to the occasion this year?

If not, how many new players does this unit need next year?

no pressure from front 4. the DL sucks.

Fans want dominating blowouts. Coaches want wins. Up 4 scores with a quarter to play you're just trying to keep the clock moving and prevent big plays.

That's what we did.

Move on. You look dumb as hell right now.

Having coached for 25 seasons myself, I understand the coaching side of it a little, .. but working on the clock, going to a prevent mode, etc. with a full quarter left is what is dumb.

ESPECIALLY in the NFL.

Bottom line: The team is up 28-7 in the third quarter, the opponent is without its top receiver and has to throw on every play, and they still give up 21 points (nearly 28).
How can anybody be encouraged by this?

After our first touchdown we scored on 6 consecutive drives. 4 tds and 2 fgs.

Coaches absolutely played it right.

You can only say that with certainty because of how it turned out.

If they score instead of the Scandrick INT, .. we are only up 6.

You do remember them getting an on-sides kick don't you?
It didn't need to be that way, especially with two first and goals.

I thought Hitchens played well and so did McClain.

Big problem is the DE's are non-existent. Spencer is our best DE at this point. So now the opposing offenses can pinch the interior and shut down the DT's.

When you play zone, you need to get pressure, otherwise it becomes like shooting ducks in a barrel for the QB.

So a player not on any NFL practice squad should be brought onto our active roster? Did he suddenly learn how to play special teams? He's still a free agent for a reason.

That was the point of the comment. Jay Cutler, a QB that had been sacked 29 times, kept his jersey clean last night. Seriously, bring in ANYBODY that can at least get close enough that they can see the QB w/o straining their eyes!

The Dallas DE's are HORRIBLE. At this point of the season, Selvie & Spencer have just 2.5sacks more than Michael Sam. If not Sam, somebody else from somebody's practice squad. Sam at least knows the system and has a familiarity with the coaches. AND he's got fresh legs. Anybody, for crying out loud these guys let Jay Cutler, a QB that has struggled all year w/ pressure in his face, go UNsacked.

Hitchens did all right but I'm starting to see why he is a depth player right now. McClain is the same, but he is really not designed to play zone in teh seam the way we use him. He isn't terrible at it, but he certainly doesn't shut down that area of the field lol.

I think some credit needs to go to the Chicago line for their play, btw. There were a few times that they brought the blitz, often if a few different directions, and we got stone walled. Usually from having a really good assignment pickup by the OL and offensive back field.

This isn't to say they had a ton of competition, but credit where it is due - the OL for Chicago did come to play last night.

Yes the game would have been different if they score instead of turning it over. Get another expected onside kick. Score again instead of turning the ball over. And don't allow us to block another PAT.

Unfortunately a for them (and for the zone posters who just want to watch the world burn) all of that didn't happen.
