I don't think anybody thought our D was one of their tougher opponents last season. Still they kept us in almost every game. The few where they didn't, our O rose to the occasion.

It was time to take advantage of the strength of this draft class. I'm not expecting any Doomsday II this year, but I think we got a lot better. (assuming we hit on the right guys)

The only thing that matters is points given up per game. Period. Our defense was 5th in the league in PPG. In the end, points scored and points given up determine the outcome of EVERY game. Yes, the PPG our defense gave up was greatly aided by the fact that our offense controlled the game and kept opposing offenses off the field. Guess what? That's the way the front office and coaching staff built this team. To do just that. It's a total package and any way you want to slice it, the bottom line is the defense gave up the 5th fewest points in the league last year.

Sure, that's the only thing that matters if you're stupid.

the only thing that matters is winning and when it COUNTED the D spit the bit and let GB win.

You can try and make up all the excuses you want but when it really mattered the defense came up small.

Nice reply moron. You really added to the conversation.

Any stat that correlates to wins is important. PPG ignores the role the offense plays. At the end of the day the defense had less drives per game because of a dominant offense that ran the ball.

PPD is widely held as a better stat because it normalizes for efficiency. There other stats like YPA. YPC, RZ%, TFL, FF, INT, and sacks/pressures that are important in evaluating a defense.

The offense and defenses slow start in the first quarter had much more to do with the loss than the last two plays. Down 21-3 in the second quarter is not conducive to winning. It reminded me of the 1994 NFCCG.

This stat is the main reason I'm excited that we have a new secondary. I've heard a lot of talk about our demise because we lost so many players in the secondary. We lost a lot of GUYS...but we lost very few PLAYERS.

"Quarterbacks completed an astounding 67.1 percent of their passes against the Cowboys – second highest in the NFL – with a passer rating of 94.1, largely thanks to Dallas’ lack of interceptions (nine)." Good for 26th in the league in passing yards allowed

Ugh, could you imagine how much different last season could have went with a decent defense/secondary. Pretty amazing we went 13-3 with that defense. I'm excited that they blew up the secondary.

Younger, speed and hunger got me excited
