What's the deal with Jerry Porter? He was a potential star before he got crossed with Al Davis. That franchise can ruin anyone.

I agree with you Chief. Oakland seems to be the place where good players go to die anymore. I really liked Porter and wished that we would have signed him a couple seasons ago. You hear a lot of stories about Porter in Oakland but honestly, I don't know that you can really put stock into what you hear from that place. Look at Moss. Yeah, he's a jerk but once he got out of Oakland, he produced big time for NE.

Tell ya what, the guy in Oakland I really would like to have at WR is Ronald Curry. I like him a lot.

I heard it and I wouldn't be surprised by it. If it's Chad or Roy I'll be happy either way (although I'm not holding my breath for either).

I don't agree, at all, that TO and Chad couldn't exist together. They are very good friends, share the same agent, and get along just fine. They'd do fine paired up as a tandem.

I wouldn't mind adding Porter.

the bengals would take a 9 mil cap hit if they traded chad, don't see that happening.
fritz salry this year is around 15 mil and he is due close to 30 mil over the next two years.they will either pay him or cut him. hard to trade those salaries.
roy williams would be the best option because it is actually doable.a 2nd and something like a 5th should get it done. welker brought a 2nd and i believe a 7th., roy is not gonna bring much more than welker did

Well, I think you also have to look at who is playing QB. I mean, that is a real big part of the problem IMO. Even still, Fitz caught 100 balls this year, Boldin had 71, James had 348 touches, that's a lot of offense to go around.

That definitely is a lot of offense to go around! I kind of like the idea of bringing in someone that's productive at WR (perhaps like Bryant Johnson) and doesn't have a lot of baggage and bringing in Samual to help shore up our weak secondary.

As we saw last night, defense still wins championships.

IMO, the Boys still need to shore up the DL (NT), inside LB's, and the secondary; too many big plays were given up - up the middle this year, especially in December; way too much shoddy tackling!

Definitely would like to see at least one new WR and one new RB as well.

Fitz is NOT going anywhere. He would cost the Cards WAY TO much in cap penalties to trade or cut him. He's going to be there, in Arizona, for another 2 years, at least, with them trying to get him to restructure his deal so that he wont hit their cap so hard. But I'm sure they'd rather he hit their cap hard, and they had him on the field, rather than trading or cutting him and having him hit their cap hard and be on the field for someone else.

Fitz isn't coming to Dallas, or anywhere else.

If Chad's cap hit really would be 9 million for the Bengals, to trade him, then you can forget that as well. He won't be leaving Cincy for Dallas, or anywhere else, cause that simply too much of a cap hit for them to take on for a guy who wouldn't be on the field for them anymore.

Roy, again, becomes the most likely cause it will cost the least to get him and he's in the final year of his rookie deal, meaning it wont crush the Lions cap to let him out.

Why would Deion know what Jerra is planning?
That Jerra will try a big-name acquisition takes no crystal ball. He is always doing that.

Please tell me Jerry is not consulting with or even informing Deion about his upcoming personnel moves...

maybe Prime heard this from someone else in the know, not necessarily Mr Jones.

he could have heard this from the player who would be the traded player, or even from his agent.

I'm just saying.

I remember when Irvin seemed to know T.O. was goin to Big D almost instantly after T.O. was "sent home" by the eagirls, and I am sure it wasn't Mr Jones that was telling him...

but my guess would also be Roy Williams(WR) for our 1st, and swapping 2nd rounders would be sweet too

Coughlin said it best "no toughness, no championship".... that goes for mental toughness too....

More than players our team needs it mentally..... could throw in focus too

Roy would work here, but I think Johnson and Owens would clash...

i think most of us here would but i highly doubt as much as people would like to think that Fitz is available. Fitz reminds me of certain #80 that played on the west coast for a long time.

I would hope he would be talking about a cornerback. Isn't Samuels available?

conspiracy theory time

since Deion is close w/ Jerry, and being a former Cb, he probably suggested in jest, or made a casual remark, that Jerry should look to targeting a CB such as Asante Samuels in FA, and Jerry replies something to the nature of, "yeah, we have to do something about cornerback"

I doubt Jerry told Deion specifically what he's going to do in the offseason, I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a idea 100% yet himself of that, he probably just said something that didn't refute what Deion suggested to him, and Deion's taking it and running w/ it

Maybe Deion has talked Jerry into trading for his protégé, Devin Hester.

'Come on Jerry, Devin might drop as many passes as Crayton and may cover like Reeves, but this guy can most certainly return kicks. He's got some Prime Time in him!'

Well lets analyze this. He says that Jerry is going to trade one of the first rounders. So this automatically elminates a free agent like Samuel from the picture.

Jerry is trading ONE of the first rounders, so it cant be a move up to grab McFadden because that would take both first rounders.

I agree it must be a vet receiver. Chad would cost $9 mill cap hit, Cinci will not do that. Fitz making $17 mill, so I think we can forget him to.

This really looks like Roy Williams of Detroit. I would offer a 2nd and see if they would be dumb enough to bite before I started talking first rounders.

In an odd move, Jerry trades his #1 to pull Deion out of retirement.

And this begins the newest franchise, the NFL Network Cheesedicks, fondly referred to by the network as Americas Team.

Staff will include head coach Steve Mariucci, Offensive coordinator Cris Collinsworth, defensive coordinator Brian Baldinger, O Line coach Jamie Dukes, Receiver coach Sterling Sharpe, director of pro personnel & scouting Rich Eisen and GM Adam Schefler.

All games to be televised weekly on the NFL network. Bryant Gumbel will be doing the play by play and color commentary solo.

I'm sorry to rain on everyone's parade but...

Deion freakin Sanders isn't kept abreast on what the Cowboys are going to do. Jerry Jones does NOT text Deion with his offseason intentions nor does he ask his thoughts on them. JJ is a master business mind and sharing information with anyone outside the necessary circle, especially a loudmouth ex-player turned analyst like Prime, is dumb business practice. There would be no beneficial reason to share inside business practices with the likes of Deion. But there would be PLENTY of reasons NOT to.

Deion is simply speculating using his "If I know my boss Jerry..." intuition.

I'm with you TB, I think Fitz is the best young WR in the game. I also love his lack of ego.
