Deion on Carr baiting Rivers for INT and Ware showing up

Biggest clown on TV. Pretty much the football version of Charles Barkley.

Except when Barkley talks about basketball he knows what he's saying.

Deion is just a moron.

“I got a lake in my backyard and I don’t use that kind of bait,” Sanders joked. “You don’t want to use that kind of bait. But he made the play, that’s all that counts and I love him because he has a little charisma when you interview him after the game. I like that.”

Thank you WG. That makes a lot more sense now.

I get Dieon is trying to make a fishing metaphor, but I don't think the one he made makes sense.

Barkley is the best...nobody in the business better than him...in any sport

Am I the only one that thought what Deion said was funny? Can't take stuff so serious all the time.

Yes, you are the only one. The point is that Prime wasn't trying to be funny, he was trying to be clever.

He clearly failed at being clever. Is it funny he failed at being clever?

Ok, sure!

No, I agree it was a funny metaphor, meant to be cute, and not necessarily a deep profound football 101 teaching moment.

I like them both!

So do I, even though I often disagree with them. I expect them both to say something off the wall pretty regularly.

I don't think Carr was baiting Rivers, .. I think he was beat on the play, .. but the pass was underthrown because Rivers was getting extreme pressure from both sides in the pocket.

If the pass is on target it is a TD.

I think that is what Deion meant by .. "I don’t use that kind of bait,” Sanders joked. “You don’t want to use that kind of bait. But he made the play, that’s all that counts."

Not that it really matters, but I've rewatched that play several times and don't believe that Rivers throw is affected by the pressure at all. Nevertheless, it was not a good throw.

Still, kudos to Carr. I very much like what I see thus far whether he deserves much credit or not for that INT.

Yea that's how I took it as well. I was shocked to see so many "He's a idiot" type comments. I guess dudes are so use to crapping on Deion that they don't even see when he's being humble. If people would read further Deion also says he likes Carr and he smiles when he watches him play.

When he played Deion would let wrs get a step especially in the middle of the field because he was confident in his make up speed and ability in following the flight of the ball. That's what Carr did.

I'm a huge fan of Barkley but Deion knows far more about football than Barkley knows about basketball. He's not the analyst Barkley is but let's don't act like Deion is Skip Bayliss.

Same here. A fan of both. That's part of why we tune in to see a Barkley or a Deion. They are entertaining and we often disagree with them. Who wants to watch a analyst they agree with 100% of the time?

What the heck does that mean?

I think he's trying to say Carr was beat and was bailed out by a poor throw. Not trying to knock Carr because I loved us signing him and still do, but I don't think he was baiting Rivers unless there was a safety some were over top. I only saw the play once so that may have been the case, but if not, Carr was beat.

I listened to the interview, Deon stated he likes our new corners, Carr and Mo respectively.

He likes the play making ability and aggressive swagger.

Ben indicated that Carr was beat on the said plays, then Deon, assuming it was the case, gave the "bait" retort.

Deon said it did not matter though, Carr made the play and he likes his charisma.

It was a positive take, the "bait" retort was based on Ben's assertion that Carr was indeed "beat".

Then when would you think he was baiting the qb? Because the essence of baiting a qb is to make them think you are beat. Normally if a cb is beat they don't turn around looking for the ball they are coached to look at the wr when beat(you run faster that way) and to only look when your step for step. Carr was looking back at the qb and the flight of the ball just like Deion did back in the day. And Deion usually did it in the middle of the field because that is the hardest deep ball to complete. It's much easier for a qb to lead a wr across the field than to throw accurately vertically.
