Deion Sanders says we go 6-10 if we cut Terrell Owens

On the way back home, I heard Deion Sanders on The Fan talking Cowboys.

The hosts of the Show asked Deion Sanders what our record would be if we cut Terrell Owens. Deion Sanders said we would be 8-8. One of the Co-host promptly asked him what the big difference between 8-8 and 9-7.

Deion Sanders quickly changed his mind and stated that we would be 6-10 if we released Terrell Owens.

He also made it very clear that he felt Tony Romo was the main problem and not Wade Philips, Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett or Terrell Owens.

Deion Sanders said the main reason fans should know that Terrell Owens isn't the problem is that none of his teammates have come out and stated it.

Furthermore, Deion Sanders kept asking the callers that were critical of Terrell Owens to ask Martellus Bennett if Terrell Owens was a problem in the lockerroom. Of course, Martellus Bennett would respond with the banal company line "Terrell Owens is a great teammate".

Obviously, most of the fans calling in stated that Martellus Bennett wouldn't be critical of Terrell Owens even if he were a problem.

exactly! he also is good buddies with the other distraction and does unnecessary interviews with him. Deion back in the day could over come his crappy attitude because he played so well. but even he wasn't as bad as pacman or you know who. this team is such a mess.

Terrell Owens' numbers have declined every year from 2004-2008, with 2007 being the only exception. Keep forcing the ball to a declining player, and you will be out of the playoffs, again.

I think the other way. If Owens plays for the Cowboys next year, the team may implode.

The Cowboys are supposed to mean more than this. There have been some characters come through here, and there have been plenty of well-documented problems. But this is supposed to be a brand in the sports world. It's not supposed to be this ridiculous circus.

But this is what happens when you sign the Deion Sanders and T.O.'s. Their influence lingers long after they're gone.

Of course, I disagree with Deion.

I'm going to put in my signature line ... "The season after T.O. is let go, the Cowboys will make it to the Super Bowl, or at least go farther than they've gone previously with him."
