On the way back home, I heard Deion Sanders on The Fan talking Cowboys.

The hosts of the Show asked Deion Sanders what our record would be if we cut Terrell Owens. Deion Sanders said we would be 8-8. One of the Co-host promptly asked him what the big difference between 8-8 and 9-7.

Deion Sanders quickly changed his mind and stated that we would be 6-10 if we released Terrell Owens.

He also made it very clear that he felt Tony Romo was the main problem and not Wade Philips, Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett or Terrell Owens.

It's true....

But the Romosexuals will prevail on this board like always and fail to look at his point objectively.

What would a 'Hall of Famer' know anyway that Joe Shmuckatelli surfing the Zone wouldn't.

The truth hurts. Sadly is does.

Why is Deion still associated with this team? I thought he went on to play for the Ravens and Skins? Why can't he be a consultant to those players?
I think I'll speak up as the token Skins fan here and say No Thanks on that one.

seeing that he is a complete idiot, I will take my chances.

and what is even better about this is that maybe he is hearing through the grapevine that owens getting cut is a real possibility.

Deion defending michael vick on national radio saying all he does is play the playstation and he never really saw him around dogs should disqualify deion sanders as a source on anything.

I’ll take 6-10 or 7-9 or 8-8 if that means all the ME-FIRST players are gone. I’ll even take a 5-11 team that fights it’s (bleep) off every week.

9-7 with all the drama...Deion you can keep it. I don’t want it. And tell your BFF he can take his ego and shove it up his you know what.

I heard rumors that said Deion was the biggest GEEK at Florida State. Nothing has changed. He just turned into a dancing clown when he got into the NFL.

How is your boy Brady doing?

Lets get that 66.6 QB rating on this team ASAP.

Terrell Owens' numbers have declined every year from 2004-2008, with 2007 being the only exception.

decline? there isnt a wr in the nfl that has better stats then owens across the boards. some have more receptions, some have more yrds. but nobody has more tds. and im sure if u look at it further u will see that one or 2 of them elite wr's have a better yrd per reception. if ur say get rid of owens fine, but dont say the guy is in decline. because clearly he isnt.

marcin harrision decline
chad johnson decline
tory holt decline

hell u can even say randy moss had a bigger drop off in production from last yr to this yr.

owens skills are fine, hes 35 but he's better then 98% of the wr's in the nfl. period.

Rafael Vela received some numbers on YPA from K.C. Joyner for the 2008 season. Joyner gave him the stats before the release of his book. They were not the complete numbers, but they included plenty of games. It was a big enough sample size.

In 2007, Owens' YPA was at least 9.0 against "red corners". "Red" being the best. That is torching them, and it is vindictive of a # 1 WR. In 2008, Owens "incomplete" YPA data has him around 2.0 YPA.

Look at that drop off. Joyner's "Red" corners made him look like Patrick Crayton. I posted the article on the zone. Joyner's work may not be absolutely perfect or interpreted correctly by some people, but that drop off in YPA is big.

Owens couldn't get off the jam (consistently), and the other team's best cornerbacks shut him down.

Owens' 65.8 YPG isn't number one WRish, and his 2.0 YPA, with incomplete data, is in Patrick Crayton territory when it comes to "Red" corners.

You would have to be a complete idiot to believe this. Out of everyone involved, Romo is the root of all problems? lmao

O.k. I went back and looked at Vela's work.

Vela has Owens' YPA for 14 games of the 2008 season. Terrell Owens' YPA is 7.5 YPA, and the last Commanders and Eagles games are missing. So, only 2 games are missing.

Vela's 2008 Red totals are for only 8 games. They are incomplete, but 2.0 YPA for 8 games is alarming, like Vela stated.

Here is Terrell Owens 2007 and 2008 comparison:

2007

139 Attempts
1,345 Yards
9.7 YPA
9.4 YPA VS Red Corners

VS

2008

124 Attempts
931 Yards
7.5 YPA
2.0 YPA VS Red Corners *only 8 games counted for stat*

In 2007 Tony Romo had 9.3 pass attempts to Terrell Owens.
In 2008, Tony Romo had 8.9 pass attempts to Terrell Owens.

Against the Green Bay Packers, Terrell Owens couldn't beat bracket coverage. It was the blueprint for shutting him down until the 49ers got stupid.

Owens is pushing 36 years old.

Do you want 140-150 passess directed his way in 2009 when the early returns say he couldn't beat the other team's best cornerback? Think about the tough corners in the NFC East.

That 9.4 YPA drop to 2.0 YPA (*8 games) is huge. Again, Owens is in Patrick Crayton territory in regards to facing 'Red' corners.

According to Joyner, Owens' YPA has been on the decline.

YPA

2004: 9.3 Eagles Super Bowl Year
2005: 8.7 Situps in driveway, and that is a good YPA.
2006: 8.0 Parcells
2007: 9.7 Garrett (The target of Owens' attacks)
2008: 7.5 Garrett

Those YPA have been declining, except for 2007. Owens didn't get off the jam and beat bracket coverage in 2008, and for an 8 game sample, he had a 2.0 YPA against 'red' or top corners (according to Joyner).

Does anyone really think Owens didn't get bracket coverage in 2007?
